My husband and I have been Dr Schakel patients for several years and continue to be impressed by his skill, compassion and knowledge of patient medical needs. Always listens to patient first, never feel rushed

I would highly recommend Dr.Schakel for pain management. I have been a patient of his for about 10 years and am satisfied with my care that I receive. Living with dystonia has been challenging to say the least but I am so thankful for Dr.Schakel and his team being there for me over the years. They are there for me to answer my questions or just there as caring healthcare providers. Many thank you’s to his team.

Dr. Schakel is a wonderful provider. He has called me at home personally to make sure I get questions answered and get my care in a timely way. He has helped me with my pain when no one else could

I was referred to Dr. Schakel by another doctor when my pain became more complex. In the 1.5 years I've been working with him, I still don't feel heard. When you don't fit directly into the mold he feels you and your chronic pain should be in, he writes you off to PT or pain therapy. I've never felt truly heard by Dr. Schakel. I've had numerous injections with him and, he doesn't come see you after. He also leaves it to his nurses to deliver all his messages - including when he is basically giving up on you. He injects and thats it. All this does is leave you feeling hopeless as a chronic pain patient because you feel like he is giving up on you. Run the other direction, don't end up like me.

I had my trail surgery it work fine I'm having another one in a few months can't wait been in foot pain since 2015 now I found a doctor that can control my nerve pain in my foot, first time I'll be able to wear a shoe thank to the doctor.

He is the first doctor at Health Partners Speciality Clinic that has listened to me fully. I have been seeing him for chronic pain in my spine December 2013. I was recently hospitalized this month. During this time he was out of the country and the day he returned to the office he wanted to see me within hours. He is beyond fantastic. Thank you Dr. Schakel!

Dr Schakel has consistently listened closely to my comments about my medical conduition and has involved me meaningfully in treatment decisions. He has been a great help for my spinal arthritis issues.

Knowledgeable, answered my questions & my results were excellent. Hard to schedule surgery date due to lack of operation room availability.

Dr. Schakel did not answer questions I had. Dr. Schakel comes across as arrogant and distant. Dr. Schakel used his partner to actually do my injections without first letting me know that He would not be doing the injections/procedures. Indeed, his behavior is unprofessional and arrogant. Dr Schakel and his assistant/partner went to lunch while I was waiting for a procedure to be done by him and then he did not bother to acknowledge my long wait.
