Dr. Angela Chen, MD

Dr Chen has incredible bedside manner. I still tear up from time to time when I think about the compassion she showed me during two very difficult OBGYN visits. She was alternatingly funny when I needed it, and serious when I needed it. Thanks, Dr Chen, for all you do. You made a huge difference in my life.

I am surprised at the number of negative reviews here about Dr. Chen. I have really enjoyed having her as my primary obgyn through a complicated twin pregnancy and beyond. I am a person who has lots of questions and wants lots of information about what is happening and what my options are. And, she always answered my questions with clear, helpful responses that left me with the ability to choose what my ideal situation would be. In fact, when I told her I was prone to yeast infections, she asked me what tended to work best for treating them, and when I shared that the creams didn't tend to work, she made sure I had a prescription of Fluconazol on file at my pharmacy ready for filling when I needed it. She is a bit of a fast and energetic talker by nature and is very busy, but I NEVER got the feeling that she was rushing me or didn't want to support my needs. I don't mean to invalidate anyone else's experiences here, but I wanted to be sure my positive experience was also included.

I came in for a routine prenatal appointment. Dr. Chen was very rushed with the ultrasound, and didn't tell me everything was healthy until I asked. She also tried to push an extra test on me even though I didn't need it. She reacted to my questions as if I were an idiot - very patronizing, and responded with little thought or concern. She also talked to me as if I were a child not a grown woman. Do not recommend!

I thought Dr. Chen was amazing! She helped with my pregnancy and delivered my son via c section! She was always thorough and caring! Definitely recommend her!

I saw her yesterday, I have been having pain around my overies and begging her to do ultrasound on my overies-- but she said the ultrasound maching is not here, bare in mind that I saw her in UCLA OBGYN Deopartment....how can this facility not be equipped with a ultrasound machine--- however I asked her if she knows when the machine will be available so I could go back she said she does not know. I was shocked. She lied to me, she just did not want to do it for me. She also said you have Vagina dryness and I asked what should I do for it she did not answer nor prescribe anything, so I left and I will NEVER go back. She is very careless.

This goes back several years, so maybe she’s changed. I had a copper IUD that was poking me, making my periods miserable, and before it was inserted, I never had a vaginal infection before. Now I was getting them frequently. She was skeptical of all the symptoms I was having, told me I was getting infections from bad hygiene, and took out the IUD like it was a waste of her time. I immediately felt better and, hey, no more infections!! She was the most rude doctor I have ever met. Zero stars.

Didn't give me the time of day , when I asked her a question she replied by saying I don't know you tell me !!! I still suffering with the same problem and she did absolutely nothing to help ! Won't recommend to anyone
