Dr. Christensen has zero bedside manners. She wasn’t rude vocally but she gives off the feeling like you’re wasting her time. The first appointment I felt like she rushed to go over her questions on my symptoms and she was basing some of her feedback on test results from over 5 years ago. The second and final appointment, I cried in the parking lot because she just didn’t seem to want to help and practically told me my symptoms were likely because I “need to consider losing weight and begin exercising”. To top it off, it took 3 months for the first appointment and then the follow up was 4 months after that. Half a year of waiting for some guidance or treatment options to manage my debilitating symptoms, because my PCP has done everything he can on his end to help me, only to be told by Dr. Christensen that I need to lose weight. It’s unfortunate that there is only a handful of rheumatologists in the RGV area and even more so that she is one of them.

I arrived an hour early, was called in to triage on time but didn't see MD until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. On the good side, since this was my first visit, she was very thorough in gathering my history and spent over 35 minutes with me. The office staff is friendly but they do not have lab or imaging facilities on site, instead they will refer you to preferred providers. On the downside, I had to wait 13 weeks for my visit to this provider.
