Dr. Contreras took care of my mother during an intensive hospitalization at Dell Seton. She was remarkable - thoughtful, caring, careful, attentive, smart. She was careful to understand my mother's preferences and counseled her about different medications. She changed medications that other physicians had prescribed in order to reduce nausea, reduce fall risks and increase comfort. She carefully adjusted doses based on what her body could process.

Dr. Contreras did not have satisfactory patient care in my opinion. She was a poor listener and seemed to be weeding out std's more than hearing my issues. The questions from the nursing staff and herself were centered around sexually transmitted diseases. My appointment was for refills on meds. Dr. Contreras would not refill a prescription that I had been on for 15 years. It was not a narcotic or habit forming drug. She gave no plan of action or options concerning not refilling my script.
