Worthless and dangerous
I recorded my first appointment with lowry at advanced pain care in Amarillo tx. Lowry prefaced my treatment by saying that my pain levels are too high and there is no medication for pain. He did off label prescribe a seizure medication, which I don't have seizures. He then prescribed an electric device that would force me to be at his mercy forever. Both the medication and device have side effects which would cause me greater pain and suffering. I told angus lowry that I've had the medication before and it didn't help. I told angus lowry that I've had an electric spinal stimulator before and it didn't work. After reading the do's and donts list. This electric device would prevent me from having a normal life. Both the pills and device would cause further injury and suffering without any pain relief. Lowry ignored everything I said unless it helped him with the surgeries I would be forced to undergo. This device would keep almost all money in house. He refused any other options.

Dr. Lowry is a man of very few words - in fact I wasn't even told that I should expect to need 2 epidural injections, not just 1, until I was in the OR getting the first injection. This was upsetting for a number of reasons, one being I'm a cash pay and it was expensive. I did not receive a cash pay discount and many doc offices offer that as it saves them time and money. Lastly, the second injection was extremely painful and the pain lasted for a week. His response to this was messaged to me through his staff. I was told if I still hurt I should get an MRI and a surgery evaluation. No personal conversation with the man, nothing. It was as though he was washing his hands of me. I do not think he cared one bit about me as a patient. No compassion or even common courtesy. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr lowry does not care about his patients. I am in constant pain and he constantly cuts my medication AND does not prescribe enough medicine even at the lower dose to last until my next appointment.

This doctor dis extremely condescending and judgmental. He does not care about his patients and their mental and physical well-being. He would rather insinuate that they are just “pull seeking” and after “toxic opioids” than actually do anything to help his patients. He was supposed to order a MRI for further assessment, but he didn’t bother and had nothing to offer to help me in anyway. The only thing he cared about at my appointment was making sure he got paid.

Dr. Lowry is one of the worst pain management specialists I've ever seen! He's rude and uncaring. I have fibromyalgia, a fractured tailbone, and herniated discs. He wouldn't give me anything for the pain. He says he wants to wait until I have the spinal injections...but they are waiting on approval from my insurance. Meanwhile, he wants me to suffer until then. He also says that exercise will cure fibromyalgia. What a joke of a doctor. He also owes me money from a previous visit 3 yrs ago and he wants to hold onto it as credit.

Dr Lowry is a personable and decent doc. My main concern is that after every visit (I think I've had 3), he tells me he will call in my RX's right after I leave. He is very good at prescribing effective medication. The issue is, he has not yet shown appropriate follow-thru - I have to call the pharmacy, see if the meds are there, and they have often not yet been called in. It takes, on average 3 - 4 days before this happens, and several phone calls. Normally, after three similar issues, I'm out looking for another doc, and that may still happen - but I have a fairly painful cancer (making the medication delays quite upsetting) and don't have the energy it would take. If you are considering him as a doc, do yourself a favor and talk with him directly about this issue.

Dr. Lowry came highly recommended by my orthopedic specialist. He suggested seeing him to discuss nonsurgical options. My thought is that the most intelligent and competent doctors are those who don’t try to win you over with words. I need a straight shooter that’s knowledgeable and confident in his skills! Dr. Lowry is that guy! He took the time to discuss options and put together a treatment plan specific to me. Now I’m a few months out without surgery and feel amazing! So grateful

At my first visit, I waited for more than an hour and was told that he was stuck in traffic, I did have the option to reschedule. I stayed. I was evidently his first patient. He came in, looked at me with a scowl, walked across the room, sat down and looked at me and said "so, where do you hurt" very sarcastically. At one point he told me that I had to lose 100lbs before he would help me, because I wouldn't fit on their table. There is much more but I'll stop there.

Dr Lowry's bedside manner is atrocious. He did not listen to my mother's concerns and was very condescending. He acted like he was put out and did not want to be there. Find someone else.
