Dr. Anita Nevyas-Wallace, MD

Dr. Nevyas Wallace performed cataract surgery on me. After surgery on my eye, I could not see out of that eye. I kept coming back for visits, and she said it didn't make any sense and finally just dismissed me and said well my eye will be perfect with correction. That is not acceptable, especially given the fact that I could see before the surgery. I finally went to another doctor and found out that the new lens was put in incorrectly and had to have another surgery at another hospital by another doctor to correct the problem.

I do not know whether dr. Wallace is an excellent surgeon or not. However, she has no regard for people s time . Perhaps, because she is dealing with older people who do not care if they have to wait for hours at every single appointment and they do not realize they have a right to be treated with respect ,not just herded into rooms to wait for hours like cattle. When she does finally come in and out of the room , I found her condescending and disingenuous to my mother. Why apologize for us having to wait when you do it intentionally ? If you truly were sorry then you wouldn’t double ,triple book your appointments. There are two assistants who are very kind ( don’t remember their names Michelle and?) I feel badly they have to work for her. I am sure there are many excellent ophthalmologists for people to choose from . I would never recommend her .

Dr. Wallace was recommended to me by my eye drs. at Wrigley Eye Associates. I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. I was born with extremely near-sighted vision. From preschool I needed coke bottle eyeglasses in order to see. For years I wore specialized contacts. Dr. Wallace did not disappoint. The cataract surgery was a success! I no longer need contacts or thick prescription glasses to see. Dr. Wallace did an awesome job. My vision is so sharp and clear. Thanks Dr. for the gift of sight.
