A compassionate dedicated doctor
Dr Garg listens to my complaints. She has been my doctor for several years and she knows me. I feel that she is dedicated to giving her patients excellent care. She answers messages promptly. I am very satisfied with the care she provides.

Cancels visit appointments last minute.
Made a new patient appointment in January. 2.5 months later shortly before my appointment I get a message that my appointment was cancelled as Dr. Garg was not accepting new patients. No apology, no phone call just a message. Why was the appointment made in the first place? And why wait 2.5 months right before my appointment? Felt a lack of compassion and professionalism. Curious if this represents her practice and office staff?

Professional, knowledgeable, reasonable
Dr. Garg has been my primary care physician for the last several years. She has always taken a proactive but measured approach in her recommendations for both preventive and specialty care alike. Dr. Garg is empathetic and takes the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I am very pleased to be her patient and recommend her without hesitation.

Saw Dr. Garg for the first time, and I am impressed. She seemed very knowledgable and attentive, and had a great ‘bedside manner’. I’m thrilled to have found her.

I have diabetes and been having trouble with high sugar levels. I was hoping she would come up with a plan to address this. Nope all she did was refer me to an endocrinologist. She also uped some of my medications that I'm taking that are not working instead of prescribing new ones. I will not be going back to her.

I have never posted a negative review online but I feel I need to because I believe readers can get better care elsewhere. I have a physical issue I have been trying to get diagnosed for years. I went to Dr Garb as a GP, showed her my issue and she gave me 4 referrals to specialists. If your interested in getting referrals she is an excellent choice. Unfortunately I needed a GP to help me navigate this diagnosis that was getting more complicated as each specialist told me to move on the next referral. Meanwhile my issue was getting worse. I went back recently to see if I could get assistance to move this forward. I showed her the issue again. She said she couldn't see it. The Cardo Dr. saw it. The Gastro Dr saw it. The Endo Dr saw it. The Ortho Dr. saw it. She couldn't? Really? Could I get help pushing up the next specialist I have been waiting months to see? Nope can't do that. I should see the next specialist (2 month) then go back to a previous specialist (6 month wait).

The Inova facility in Ashburn where Dr. Garg is currently practicing is top notch. Dr. Garg is practical, relatable, friendly and conservative in her approach. She's a perfect match for me and my adult daughters. She speaks with my daughters frankly and is a terrific listener. She seems truly interested in each of us. We never feel rushed.

I saw Dr. Garg once as a new patient, and then a week later she left the practice without warning (found out because a prescription couldn't be filled). I knew what I needed in terms of maintenance medications, and she prescribed them without delving into much. HOWEVER, when I asked about my itchy head (I have eczema), she said there was nothing that could be done. That I would just have to live with it. I saw a dermatologist recently, hoping she was wrong, and yep, she was very wrong.
