Roughest exam
I saw Dr. Ann E. Miller in 2022 for a routine pap smear exam and to get STD testing. I felt anxious and expressed that during my appointment. She roughly handled the speculum instrument during my pap smear exam and I loudly and repeatedly said, 'Ow! ow! ow!'. She didn't not acknowledge that what she was doing was hurting me and making me physically uncomfortable. She did not slow down what she was doing. She did not ask me how she could make me the exam more comfortable. I was so emotionally dysregulated during the experience that I went into a freeze response and grit my teeth just to get the exam done and over with. Dr. Ann E. Miller needs to go receive continued education on bedside manner in addition to trauma-informed medical care training. If I had known about these other reviews here, I wouldn't have scheduled an appointment with her.

Do not see her
I saw her for a couple years and really shouldn’t have. Anytime I asked a routine question she made me feel ridiculous for asking. I feel she put my health at risk because she did not care about my concerns. I saw a new doctor and was immediately met with concern and the new doctor kindly and professionally addressed all my concerns. Meeting with this new doctor made me realize how poorly my care was with Dr. Miller. Women deserve more…especially from a doctor you see so often.

Ann Miller made me feel like a fool and an inconvenience for seeking help with pain and another more private issue. My concerns were not addressed properly nor with a trace of empathy. The physical exam was awful; I wish I had never gone. How could you touch someone like that who is coming in for pain? It looks like I'm not alone, per her other reviews. Both issues that she dismissed were easily diagnosed in one single exam at another practice! My new doctor also did ultrasounds to ensure the pain wasn't something more serious. How could Dr. Miller say that the issues I described were outside the range of an OBGYN's duty to diagnose? Not only were they diagnosed easily and referred out for treatment, but my new doctor scheduled follow up appointments so she could personally keep tabs on my progress. In retrospect, I am shocked that Ann Miller was so curt and dismissive. She told me that, as an OBGYN, she could prescribe birth control and "that's about it."

I had the exact same experience as most of the others on here. She is EXTREMELY rude, dismissive, and completely throws any sort of bedside manner out the window. She was judge mental. During the actual physical exam she just shoved without any warning. Was painful. I’m fairly young and having symptoms that people get in old age. She didn’t help whatsoever. She was 30 mins late to the appointment and then when I needed to ask questions 10 mins into the appointment she actually said she didn’t have time and stood up and left. I left and went home and cried, I felt gross from how she handled herself and the actual physical to the point that I needed to take a shower. The only upside is that the nurses are extremely nice. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to her.

I agree with Grace, I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! She had a terrible bedside manner, zero sympathy for the pain I was having, and completely disregarded my family medical history. When I tried to advocate for myself, she got visibly upset and talked down to me in a very demeaning tone. At the end of the appointment, when it was clear that I was just nodding my head to be polite, she huffed out of the room saying "well that's just my opinion but clearly you don't believe me." I went home and cried immediately after my appointment and wish I had never gone. All of this after I had told her that this was my first OBGYN appointment and was clearly nervous about the symptoms I was experiencing. I have heard great things about Melinda Everett and other doctors at this clinic, so I will be trying someone different next time.

At my annual women's appointment, I wanted to do a comprehensive check-up (breast exam, Pap smear, etc). Dr. Miller did not want to do the Pap smear because I had one the year before. I explained very personal circumstances (including health anxiety) and why it was important to me, but she was still dismissive. Dr. Miller only reluctantly agreed after I firmly advocated for myself. I had to actually say the words, "I have the right to ask for this." Afterwards, she was cold and clearly angry at me for "defying" her. She even told me with a condescending tone, "if the results are abnormal, you're just going to be upset," as if punishing me. She made me feel stupid and hysterical for wanting knowledge about my body and my health. This made a vulnerable and scary appointment even worse, and I sat there during the exam feeling humiliated, disrespected, and holding back tears. I have never before experienced a doctor with such haughty disregard for a patient's choice, dignity, and autonomy.

Would truly discourage anyone visiting Dr. Miller. She has awful bed side manner, she was very rude, and I will definitely be requesting a different doctor. There should be a 0 star option!

I’m not a habitual review-leaver, but I had such a positive experience with Dr. Miller that I decided to. She is very straightforward and professional and took the tile to review my medical history thoroughly and answer my questions. We discussed getting an IUD and she was supportive. She has great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable but is also clearly very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Dr. Miller strongly discouraged me from getting an IUD when I requested it; she said we'd "see how my first pelvic exam goes" before deciding if I could handle an IUD. When I was led into the exam room, the nurse asked me if it was okay if a "student" sat in. I said sure, thinking she would eventually leave. The student (high school?, college?, med school?) stayed for my breast exam and stood next to the doctor during my pap smear, with which I was very uncomfortable.
