Dr. Annabel Chang, MD

New insurance and new doctor. I am a relatively healthy non-drinker and non-smoker with little to no outlying health conditions. I saw Dr. Chang for my annual physical and as physicals are not as invasive as they once were, I think we got along fine. She was very comprehensive and thorough regarding all health concerns and got my referrals in order quickly and efficiently. All my questions were answered and she filled a situational inhaler prescription that I wasn’t sure I needed but she wanted to make sure I had it. All in all I have had some pretty rough physicals and doctor dealings since I moved to McKinney and after a first visit I feel like I lucked out with Dr. Chang.

This was supposed to be a get acquainted session. We were in need of a new PCP after our move. I’m a kidney transplant recipient whose results have been excellent and have worked with outstanding physicians to find the right combination of medication in the surgery’s aftermath which was not easy since I have more than average allergic reactions to some meds. I need for my PCP to interact with my transplant clinic nephrologist, cardiologist and electrophysiologist. She didn’t listen to a word I said. She was only interested in walking me through a Medicare checklist. She did not like some of the meds I take and flat out said I shouldn’t take 2 of them since they could be habit forming. Proceeded to refer me to the Psychiatric Department so they could get me of the drugs she didn’t like. This was a terrible 15 minutes. I told her I’d look elsewhere and canceled my wife’s session with her later in the day. I don’t like being treated in a condescending way by a doctor who doesn’t listen.

Excellent first visit.
