Dr. Anne Eliades, MD

I spent 12 years suffering through Dr. Anne Eliades's rude comments, lack of empathy, and lack of actual help. She made me feel like I was worthless because I was a fat child. She had my mom lock away food and make my teachers monitor me at lunch to make sure I was only eating what she, not a dietitian, said to eat. When it didn't help, somehow it was still my fault. She was a doctor so I believed her long after leaving her care, but I finally found a doctor who listened to me and discovered a slew of health problems that should've been treated years before. She was furious to find out that my previous doctor didn't do certain tests. The only thing Eliades checked in my youth was my thyroid, which wasn't the issue. I also had severe periods starting when I was 11. She was no help then either. Had she tried harder to help, she may have discovered my PCOS and linked that with my weight issues. Instead, she just said everything was due to my weight, even if I went in for a sore throat.
