Excellent Care in an Excellent Practice
I first saw Dr. Billings because an appointment with other Pasadena hand specialist required weeks or months of waiting, and I could see her in a matter of days. My first appointment was very focused, identifying two discrete problems, and recommending specific treatments for each. She was quick, yet answered all my questions. I’ve followed through with her recommendations with good results. The front office is friendly and professional, and the practice begins appointments early in the morning.

Broke my wrist, Dr Billings performed my surgery. The beginning of surgery, She started cutting on me before I was asleep for the procedure. 1 1/2 months after surgery, my OT said there was something wrong with the movement of my wrist, I went in to see Dr Billings right away & asked for an x-ray. Dr Billing said everything was ok even though I was in pain. She ended up giving me 9 cortisone shots in my wrist in 3 months & wanted to give me more. From what other Drs say that is an over dose of cortisone! I went to see a different doctor for a second opinion, he said the X-ray that was taken by Dr Billings showed a broken ligament & the plate was too big for me. He did reconstructive surgery, it was reported that my hand wasn?t connected to my wrist due to 2 broken ligaments. It took 3 months to heal the 2 ligaments & the reconstruction of my wrist. Dr Billings knew I had a broken ligament & didn?t want to deal with the mistake due to her ego. I trusted her.. shameful!

Caring, Clear, Helpful, Friendly, Professional
Wow! Dr. Billings was great. Small thing…. I had this ganglion cyst pop up on my wrist about a month ago. No trauma, it just appeared one day. I kept bumping it and my watch hit it. She explained what it is and treated it for me right away. She was very kind, professional, and explained everything. I was in and out of the office before my appointments was actually schedule. Great Experience.

Dismissive and disrespectful, no post-op info
Crushed my index finger on my dominant hand. Was told surgery was necessary, but that she'd only be able to figure out what was needed during the operation. After surgery I was provided zero information about what was discovered, what was done, how I should care for it, things I should look out for, concerns, movement restrictions. I was simply told not to get it wet or washing my hand for two weeks. I called her office to see if I could get more clarity, they told me I could schedule another appointment, but she doesn't respond to phone inquiries. I asked just to be given some basic information. I didn't get a return call from her staff or anyone. About a week after the surgery I started getting strange nerve pains in my finger. I called the office and left a voicemail to please have someone call me. After 3 days I called again, and again got the voicemail. Regardless of her skill as a surgeon, her and her teams' clear disrespect for her patients is shocking.

Profession, Competent, Prompt and Caring
I’ve had several surgeries by Dr. Billings. She is very professional, prompt (low wait times), very competent, and yet she takes the time to explain everything. As the result of her surgeries I have the use of my hands again.

I recently visited Dr. Billings for severe pain in my hand. My wait to be seen was less than five minutes. Dr. Billings assessed the problem quickly and compassionately gave me the injection to ease the pain. Her office staff went above and beyond to make certain that my insurance covered the visit. This was by and far one of the best experiences at a doctor's office I have had in the past five years. Thank you Dr. Billings for your heart and staff for your efficiency and care!

Dr. Billings performed surgery on my wrist that had been painful for several years. She started with conservative therapy that helped for awhile but eventually I needed to have surgery. She explained everything throughly and I had great confidence in her skill. I am now pain free and highly recommend this caring physician. Also, her staff is fantastic.

I had pain in one thumb she said she could get rid of the pain with and injection. She looked at the other thumb pressed a point on the thumb and it hurt, she said the same could be done as the other thumb. Still have pain in one and a new pain in the other! She also said she could fix my "trigger finger", I called to make an appointment for the surgery 3 times and the phone just rang finally on the third attempt someone answered and said the scheduler was out but would call me soon. 3 weeks later they called and wanted me to go to West LA (I am in Pasadena) for the surgery...I passed and went to a local Dr. who is much better!!

I don't write many reviews but I felt like I needed to leave one here. My husband and son both used Dr. Annette Billings and had a great experience. I had heard about Dr. Billings from several different people and I have kept her name in the back of my head for over a decade. My husband needed surgery on his thumb, we were worried about nerve damage and numbness. We understood the gravity of the surgery and the risks going into it. I remembered what I had heard about Dr. Billings and her meticulous work, especially when it came to reconnecting nerve endings. She did an amazing job and I'm so grateful we sought her out. We were pleased to find out she was covered by our insurance. My son was having issues with his wrist after doing some heavy road biking. We thought it was severe nerve damage(it was over the course of 2 years). She examined it and told him what to do. He followed her instructions carefully and his wrist healed, he was able to avoid surgery. She is honest and talented!

My appointment was early. She came in didn't bother introducing herself, didn't even bother with a "good morning" or "how are you." She grabbed my arm, tried to push it and I told her "that hurts." She told me surgery wasn't going to fix it. The only thing I could do is take Ibuprofen....then left. I had a Dr. Appt with my primary and requested that she write a letter for the record. Reading the letter angered me, she totally fabricated the whole appointment. She stated that she made me do several exercises to measure how extensive my injury was. She never once asked me how I injured my arm or why I was there. She only asked what hurt and how often then suggested that I take medicine for the pain.

Dr. Billings performed two surgeries on my hands - first the right and then the left. She was always warm and friendly. She listened to what I had to say and answered all my questions. These two surgeries ended years of pain and debilitation. My hands work better than they have in years. These surgeries were performed 11 and 12 years ago and my hands are still in excellent shape and not causing me any pain.

I arrived for a 10:00 appointment. So did 3 other patients, according to the sign-in sheet. I asked if she always booked her patients this way, and the person at the desk said yes. The wait was an hour. The waiting room was jammed and unpleasant. This is like going to a slaughterhouse in terms of patient experience. Dr. Billings was fine, I guess, if you catch her at a time when she’s not triple-booked.

- Is it ever appropriate to *not* tell someone a *single thing* about how to care for wearing a new cast for the first time in their life? - Or, to blatantly, relentlessly, humiliate a nurse in front of a patient? This begrudging God complex that US doctors are getting is becoming insane... Here's my appointment, nearly verbatim to the best of my memory: Me: (gets off phone, roughly 3 second process) - "Okay the doctors here I gotta go, bye babe. Hi doctor." Billings: "So whats going on wi

Dr. Billings is nice enough, but as with many doctors, was only with me 5-10 minutes. She ordered an x-ray, after which she said my thumb ligament was torn and a small chunk of bone came off my joint when it happened. This sounded very strange given I didn't recall any major force to my thumb joint. After a second opinion, turns out I have a bone spur in the joint and that was causing my joint discomfort. I was injected with an anti-inflammatory and I'm basically good as new.
