Dr. Annette Fineberg, MD

Dr. Fineberg presented as very confused during my return OB appt. with her; I have only seen her once and will ensure I do not receive care from her again. She did not look up my chart or have any paperwork regarding my pregnancy in her hand. She asked me questions about my pregnancy that indicated she had not reviewed my chart, care, etc. I’m an expecting mother of twins (37 weeks) and hoped to get information about induction and when would be best to deliver (I’ve been told my whole pregnancy that I should not go past 38 weeks); she was very surprised when I mentioned this, but then proceeded to ask me when I’d like to be induced and was unsure of non-stress testing and next steps - she later said she’d go and get more information and did not return to the room. I finally popped my head out of the room after waiting for quite some time and a medical assist. found her and said you’re fine to go. I was too upset to ask her to return l instead said I’d call the office in the morning.

Just getting around to reviewing (encounter was late Jan. 2021)- I went back and forth but people should know. I had a miscarriage and saw her to have a laminaria put in the afternoon before they were going to remove my twin fetuses. Paid very little attention to me while putting in it, mostly chatted with my linguist husband about her daughter who is also in linguistics. I felt invisible. It became painful and she didn’t believe me, said it was not pain but “pressure.” She got frustrated and stormed out of the room, sent an assistant in with a small manila envelope of vaginal suppositories and the assistant told my husband to stick them up me the next morning. No instructions included with the suppository. Also, I’ve never had surgery and when going over what to do/what not to do she had not mentioned that I shouldn’t eat. The next morning I had to wait an extra 5-6 hours before surgery bleeding out the entire time and passing clots because I’d eaten. I’m still incredibly traumatized.

This is hands down the WORST doctor I’ve ever been to. I was left IN TEARS after my visit with her because of how cruel and judgemental she was. I wanted to get an iud removed and she didn’t let me speak and informed me that if I got the iud removed I would be seeing her within the next few weeks for pregnancy or abortion services. I told her I wouldnt have sex until I was on birth control and she said that would be a dealbreaker for my bf and ignored my questions about other forms of contracept

Dr. Fineberg is an excellent gynecologist. At my first app't, she was personable, kind, respectful and thorough. She took her time with me and responded to all my questions carefully and in terms that I was easily able to understand. She is very knowledgable. She is what you want and expect in a gynecologist. She is the best.
