Dr. Anthony Chen, MD

I'm new to LA and came to California two years ago. Wifes friend recommended Dr Chen. I should have done research before going to Dr Chen. My mistake. I can agree somewhat with what everyone said on the internet. The receptionist and staff were always polite to me. They just did their job according to Dr. Chens policies. I don't know if Dr. Chen is a good or bad doctor. I saw him three or four times. What I can say is he is very hungry. To renew any prescription that needs to be renewed he wants you to go to see him. Why? Maybe he wants to follow up and see all is OK or maybe he just wants the money? Good doctors follow up by calling the patient to see if all is ok. Twice I was refused medicine that he prescribed in the past and still using, even though I saw him, just two months prior. I have other doctors I see ounce a year and they were very happy to follow up to get me the prescriptions I needed filled.

Doctor refused to see me due to not having a booster shot. Requested to get one and still refused to see me in office until I had the booster.

We (myself and my wife) have seeing Dr. Anthony Chen for 15 years. I am a M.D. too. Honestly, I like Dr. Chen very much. he is such a wonderful doctor. Very concerned to his patients, well knowledgeable, and very kind. Any time when we need a help, he gave us a hand promptly. We are very fortune to have Dr. Chen as our family doctor.

I would not recommend this doctor to my cat. He misdiagnosed a serious personal condition several times over many years after I complained to him about obvious symptoms which he dismissed as indigestion and laughing it off. I thought he was smart but in the end he proved to be negligent, and either ignorant or indifferent or both. I found help from another doctor who knew what he was doing and am lucky to be alive no thanks to Chen.
