Dr. Anthony Elias, MD

In 2013, I was referred to Dr. Elias after an early breast cancer diagnosis. He is a kind and compassionate physician who will thoroughly review your options. However, he will tell you up front that he makes recommendations based on current empirical evidence from what breast cancer studies are showing. During my initial session with him and based on my results, he said that according to my test result numbers; I was 50/50 on whether to go with chemotherapy treatment. I appreciated that he left the decision up to me, but informed me of the benefits and risks with each choice. Some could be put off by his matter of fact style of communicating, but at the end of the day; I have full confidence in his skills and logic to guide me though my cancer journey.

Dr. Elias doesn't know or doesn't want to know what he doesn't know. He is a breast specialist who attempted to treat my mom's very rare form of sarcoma called EHE. He is cocky, didn't reach out to people who knew about this disease and I he is in part to blame for my mother's death. When she approached him with alternative treatments that she had researched, he brushed off her ideas. Come to find out after her death, many of these treat6have been successful in adding years to people's lives.

We had a breast cancer consult on 3/27/19. Dr Elias not only interrupted an intense consult TWICE to take personal phone calls regarding an airport pickup - this in the middle of a terrifying consult! We were dumbstruck. Then we returned for our first therapy session on 4/10/19 and for the first twenty mins he tells us he's confused by the results he's seeing from the report, only to discover that he had the WRONG PATIENT REPORT after 20 mins! And this is a professor of medicine? Appalled.

Dr Elias is kind and brilliant. He has the ability to discuss your treatment in a way that gives you the confidence he throughly understands your case. He is in step with the rapidly changing and complicated knowledge regarding cancer and can relate it in an easy to understand way. He is personally gentle and very confident. I am deeply grateful he is my doctor.
