Dr. Anthony Meier, MD

Dr. Meier's approach to medicine struck me as outdated and paternalistic. He seems to believe that patients should be passive and follow the doctor’s instructions without question. This was a stark contrast to the collaborative treatment approach I had experienced before.During our appointment, Dr. Meier did not engage in a discussion about my success in the treatment of addiction. Instead, he expressed his opinion that addiction is a choice and informed me that he would not continue my medication. This regressive approach not only disregarded my medical history but also felt dismissive of the complexities surrounding addiction.

This doctors allow elderly people to be admitted to nursing homes without ever assessing them, their health or their medications. He has a short, curt and angry demeanor. This is not a person I’d want to be looking after my older loved one!! Ever!! Find a better doctor! This man shouldn’t the the head of anything, let alone the geropsych department at McLaren!! Dr. Anthony Meier spotted some changes to my Platelet count during recent blood tests. He sent me to Breslin Cancer Center. They diagnosed my problem and started meds. I am doing great and thanks to DR Meier and The Breslin cancer center doctors I am doing fine. THey saved my life.

Dr. Meier is one of the VERY FEW physicians I have found that actually listens to their patients. I'm very pleased with the care he has provided me these past 5 years. Yes sometimes the waiting room is a long time, but it is because he likes to talk and makes sure his patients get the time and attention they deserve. I would highly recommend Dr. Meier to my family and friends. In fact he is now a primary physician to a friend I referred. She is very pleased with Dr. Meier also and thanks me.
