I have been to a few doctors and one doctor said my rash was scabes. He gave me medication but it did not work. I changed PCP and was told I may have an autoimmune disorder I was high suggest I seek Rheumologist. I had my first appointment with Dr. Shahane and she listened, took lots of notes and did exam. She ordered blood work, perscripbed methotrexate and said I maybe boarder line for having RA with Sjornes. I was relieved she took the time to listen, she was patient with my questions and a true example of what a doctor should be and is. I recomend her to anyone diagnosed with autoimmune disorder. The office however is not as efficiant. Just keep track your appointments and make sure you get the name of the person who you spoke with.

We scheduled an initial appointment with Dr. Shahane over a year ago but when we arrived at the practice the appointment was not on the schedule. After much discussion the patient was seen by a fellow rather than the provider and a visit was scheduled at a suburban location which required a great distance of travel in order to avoid waiting many months for an appointment. The next visit was appropriately changed to telemedicine. For the most recent appointment, we were informed 2 weeks before our scheduled time that the provider went out on early maternity leave. While this is an understandable reason to change the appointment, we were unable to reschedule the visit after speaking with two separate schedulers (requiring 15 to 30 minute wait times on hold each call) and sending two messages through the patient portal system. Dr. Shanane is a knowledgeable provider but the scheduling is poorly managed.

I have only seen her once so far, but she seems like she is sharp, confident and will be able to take care of my needs. She requested lots of records which makes me happy to know she wants to come up to speed on my case. She is also quite personable. Easy to talk with and ask questions of. I'm hoping she can come up with a better plan of care for me.
