Staff violated HIPPA to make a sale
I had one consult to surgery with Dr Bhama. She answered my questions but left out some crucial information, including that she was planning on taking out my appendix in addition to the bowel resection (that would've been a nice surprise to wake up to). I scheduled another consult to take place after a colonoscopy, which would give us a clearer picture of what surgery would look like, but was told to cancel it if the colonoscopy came back clear. I did not proceed with the colonoscopy, and thus cancelled the appointment, to which I was called by her office three times in rapid succession and left messages asking if I could 'hop on a virtual consult in 15 minutes'. When I didn't answer, her nurse David proceeded to call my emergency contact and disclose my medical information in an attempt to get me to reschedule an unnecessary surgical consult. I am disgusting with her, David, and the entirety of the office that works surrounding her. My emergency contact was an ab-sive ex boyfriend.
What went well
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Appointment wasn't rushed
  • Wait times
What could be improved
  • I didn't feel respected
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Staff wasn't friendly
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions
