Dont do it. He needs to be fired.
I went to see him a a new patient for three months, before this dude went crazy on me. I had a nerve problem on one foot, and a pulled muscle on the other foot. He would not give me a referral to a foot specialist. But he did prescribe me the wrong medicine. He gave me migraine medicine, for a guy that has depression issues, for my foot, keep in mine you. He gave me a special ibuprofen for pain, in which I can't sleep that hurts so bad. I asked him for a better pain med, and he refused. I told him, at this stage in my life, I'm not going through no pain. Either prescribe me the right meds, or I will get a new doctor. He told me to never call him again. Then he thought about it, and called me over twenty times, from different numbers, and a private number at 9:00 pm, to apologize. Hell no. No doctor should treat their patients that way. He needs to retire ASAP

Beware of this Dr
I have suffered from knee pain from September of last year. The X ray recommended an mri that never was prescribed. In December I hurt my knee very bad. Went to his office and they sent me to the nurse practioner, that gave me a sample of a cream with aspirin , that I am alergic to it. Never ordered any more X-rays, MRI or anything telling me it was more of the same. I changed Drs and immediately they order the MRI. Guess what, I have a broken meniscus, bakers cyst and some other problem and he didn’t care. This Dr. needs to be investigated by the insurances, because he is not helping the patients. He is helping himself with all the money he gets from the persons in medicare.

Would NOT recommend!
Would not recommend this Dr. He only wants to give you pills and would not help in the care or communication for my fathers health. I have medical POA and he refused to give me info and he had the POA on file. We made an appointment for a neurologist and then his office called and cancelled the appointment without consulting us. When we set up a meeting to discuss my father's care, he was very dismissive almost yelling at us. Needless to say, my father is no longer a patient here.

Dr. Apurva Shah is an excellent physician
Dr. Apurva Shah in Largo , FL is an excellent physician. He holds his patients in the highest regard and works tirelessly to assist them meet their health needs and goals. He gives us his personal phone number for emergencies and will see patients outside of the regular business day if needed. He will hold telehealth sessions, if needed. Dr. Shah's staff members are extremely efficient with record breaking notifications to the pharmacy, reminders to make appointments and confirmations, reviews of charts for next steps, personable and caring patient communications, and more. Getting appointments, changing appointments, in-house labs and results, insurance communications, short waiting room times are excellent. There is a lot compassion for each person who is like their family member.Important note: there are quite an abundance of physicians by similar names across the country, even in our same area, so do not be swayed by negative reviews. I reported them as not this physician.

I have been an insurance agent since1990,
Telehealth
I have known Dr Shah for about ten years. I was immediately impressed. With his demeaner and his staff. I have recommended him to many of my clients, and all are totally satisfied with him and his staff. I have been a patient his for a long time. I never have to wait to get a appointment, and never have to wait more than five minutes when I arrive. When I was sick, he took me in immediately and called me at home to see how I was doing, for days. If you want a totally professional, clean and caring primary Docter, then you need look no further. Give this Dr and office a call and set up an appointment ASAP ,You will not be sorry.

Throughs pills at you and doesn’t take the time to refer you as needed. Almost bled out because of this establishments poor decisions and lack of reading their patients files.

Very responsive. Listens to my concerns. When my husband and I had Covid he called us everyday until we were feeling better. I never had a Dr call me at home. I had to have several hernias repaired, he again visited me everyday in the hospital and checked up on me when I returned home. His staff is also great and always answers my questions.

I have been a patient of Dr Shah for last 6 years. I have found that the doctor is by far one of the best doctors I have ever had, and I am 71 years old, so I have seen more then a few . This doctor calls me every day when I am sick even on sundays and holidays that’s commitment. I never wait on appointments they are very good at keeping their appointments on schedule. The doctors staff are always ready with a smile to welcome the next patients. Crazy as this sounds I enjoy going to my dr appointments, I always feel like I am with family in that office . I would highly recommend this Dr he really is so good !Sincerely, Patricia Dors

Substandard Care
2 visits. 1st - Filled out new patient material and while doing so in waiting area, could hear receptionist using unprofessional language in conversations. When papers were complete, turned them in and receptionist remained true to character with curt interaction. Dr. Shah was not there. Saw nurse who was more pleasant and professional.2nd visit, was seen by Dr. Shah. Dr. attempted to encourage me to seek my care through the VA. I told him I don't qualify. Discussed several medications I am on and that I am new to Medicare so refilling as I need them and wanted to consolidate through the office. Each subsequent call to refill has been a challenge for the office to do so accurately. On last call Dr. refused to provide a prescription that I could use at the pharmacy of my choice and insisted on me filling it at another pharmacy. Dr. refused to continue with my patronage.

Went in last year 3times in 5 weeks all he did was a blood test. Had to go in for results and he lived about my results. then after already confronting him on it and what my expected care I wanted he got up in my face demanding .called my insurance company and they called him. He said he was trying to raise his doctor rating. I have no respect for him as a doctor and less as a person. Randy Baughman

The wait to see Apurvah was over an hour. Upon seeing Apurvah, he inquired about my Cardiologist and I informed him I was a patient with the Heart Institute in Largo. He ask me if I would change Cardiologist because he didn’t have a good working relationship with that office. I declined to change Cardiologist and Apurvah told me to find another Primary Physician because as he said”I didn’t want my Primary telling me one thing and my Cardiologist telling me another”. He said he could recommend someone better.

I was disappointed during my new patient visit. I was told the doctor needed to do a full history and was met with a nurse practitioner whose bedside manner was less than professional. Upon requesting to and actually meeting the doctor, it seemed the likelihood of a new doctor-patient relationship was not a possibility. The lack of professionalism throughout the office was too great. Unfortunately, I will not return to this establishment.
