Weeks later, medication was never prescribed correctly - no refills. No one answers the phone. Ironic voice message 'for faster service text us at....' I waited days for a reply to texts, and often the responses didn't entirely make sense. I was unexpectedly dismissed from this practice 2 days before my next appointment with the doctor. The staff told my health insurance 'because they don't like how I act,' and because I didn't comply with getting the labs complete - the labs that I requested myself - that have to be scheduled months

Unprofessional staff and unhelpful doctor. Test results take forever and getting answers is like pulling teeth. The doctor doesn’t know about basic tests I asked for. My last appointment I waited nearly 40 min to be seen. Avoid this place.

It seems they couldn't care less......
I was referred for a colonoscopy by my physician on Feb 5th. Called to make an appointment and was scheduled for a phone call instead, 1 month and 10 days in the future. The call was 3 or 4 minutes and consisted of general questions about my health and meds I was taking. A few days late a checklist arrived in the mail. I needed an EKG, some bloodwork, and an okay from a cardiologist befoe they would schedule me for the procedure. I visited my physician for the bloodwork and EKG, and when I saw a cardiologist he repeated the EKG and said all was okay and that he'd fax the results to Dr Malamuds office. I called to schedule the procedure and was told that they had not received the results or the go ahead from my physician or the cardiologist. I called my physician and the cardiologist asking them to re-send the required items which they agreed to do. Dr Malaumuds office has now gone silent with no further follow up or communication. A very costly and time wasting experience.

Too many patients, poor standards. Bad practice.
It's a GI chop shop situation.- You won't be able to get ahold of them via phone unless you have time and a phone line or two to call in tandem.- You will be informed that texting them will result in faster service. It will not.Their privileges are at pretty nasty hospitals (California General is a bad time in my experience) & the aftercare is poor. I was referred for EGD and colonoscopy at the end of February and all of my interpretations and follow-up had to be provided by my GP - who've since reported that due to the conduct of this provider, their inability to be reached, & general patient dissatisfaction, will no longer be providing referrals to this specialist. I addressed complaints to the office manager, she didn't care much. I sincerely hope this practice fails.

HARD TO GET A HOLD OF!
I was referred by my GP in early May and didn’t get an appointment till 6/22/22. The day of the appointment, I received a text saying that the doctor had canceled and they rescheduled me for 6/28/22. I received an intake call from the nurse on 6/28 at 2:45pm for my 4:15pm telehealth appointment. She said Dr. Malamud would call within 30 - 45 minutes. He never called. I sat by the phone with the ringer on till 6pm. Today, they TEXTED to say I had missed my appointment… I let them know what happened and they said the doctor called me from an unknown number, which was not true as I had sat by my phone for three hours and 15 minutes. Plus, no message was left and nothing in my call log. They offered me an appointment in August… but I’ve already waited two months for this appointment on top of being canceled on and not called!!! I’m so disappointed. There’s nothing like not feeling well and not being able to be seen by the doctor you’ve been referred to.

Had stool samples done in April 2021 and called numerous times for the results, even having to contact Quest to have the resent twice. It is now December and I have still not received the results. The front office staff RARELY answers the phone and NEVER responds to voicemails or returns calls, it’s really just about luck. Been trying for three weeks to have the office send my records to my new GI doctor so I can make an appointment. Absolutely zero regard or care for the patient. Plenty of other GI doctors in the area.

I have been trying to get hold of the staff at Dr Malamud's office for 2 months now. After a colonoscopy, 2 months ago, before which I was given no guidance, or instructions as to where to go for the colonoscopy, despite calling and calling, (I ended up speaking to the Doc himself on the Sunday , as it was an emergency by then) After the colonoscopy, I was told that they would be getting me a referral for a CT scan. I have heard nothing from them since. I have tried at least 20 times, and left plenty of messages. They never ever answer the phone. I called my primary provider to ask for another Gastroenterologist, and they also said they were having trouble getting through. I'm assuming the Doctor has retired? died? is ill? I would not recommend this doctor, and wish I had heeded the other reviews that said the same thing.

The doctor is very nice and knowledgeable but if you don't have all the time in the world to deal with his assistants, find another one. You'll have to call them for schedule and don't believe if someone tells you they'll call you back.

Wish we could have even gotten to the appt. My son had an in person appt but the girls in the front office, Cynthia and Alejandra, were beyond rude and unhelpful. After repeated miscommunications, we decided to find another Dr. It’s too bad because the Dr comes highly recommended. This office needs admin assistance that is professional and knowledgeable!

The doctor is very knowledgeable, understanding, and has a very good attitude, but in my dad case, the whole process was a mess, they ask for lab work, they don't get back to me, and if I call to follow up they say "we are gonna call you back", and no one calls, I ended up waiting six months for an answer and still have no answer.

I went to see the doctor because I need help managing my UC, possibly with new prescription. And after repeated calls to have prior authorization forms submitted to my insurance company (because they don't cover the meds I need) , not only has his staff failed to submit the forms, they've also failed to follow up with me about not submitting the forms. I can get the meds myself, after they submit the forms - something they should, but don't, know about through Shire The staff just doesn't G
