Good Doctor
It took about 2 months to get in to see him, but I called several other Endo's and they were out until June 2025. He has several questions about my medical history and how I am currently doing as well. He ordered several labs for me. He explained that due to me having Hashimoto's, I may also have another auto-immune disease. Waiting for results now, but he was very thorough and cared to listen unlike many other doctors.

Dr. Bolisay is my absolute hero. I’ve seen him since I was in grade school, and I will forever speak so highly of him. He remembers what I’ve been up to in life, he’s visited me in the hospital when I’ve gone into DKA, and he always makes time for me when I report issues. I’ve only ever waited 5 minutes for an appointment, and I always make sure to get there early (despite being a perpetually late person). I truly hope that they cure diabetes before he retires, because I never want to have to find a new endocrinologist!

About a week ago, I was on vacation in Barcelona, I had a blackout that lasted approx. 3 days. Well, I called my endo, Arnold Bolisay, to make an appointment, and he refused to see me - said that this is not a side effect of SAI or HC. Fyi, my husband told the doc (over the phone) that I had blackouts, but I also told his nurse that I had extreme tiredness and weakness, confusion and slurred speech, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and stomach pain, and sudden lower back or leg pain. She apologized and told me that the doc want me to see his GP he thinks it's something else! Very unhappy!

After being Dr Bolisays patient for few years and getting my thyroid under control I was taken off medication. Year later my labs tanked so I called his office to make an appt. His nurse called me saying he won't see me and just to go to a regular physician. Extremely disappointed and would not go back to him. Clearly he only wants to see patience with diabetes and cancer as that means more $ to his pocket.

After several doctors suggested I see an endocrinologist my pcp referred me to dr Bolisay. I made several calls before I could get an appointment. 2 days before my appointment his nurse called and said the doctor wanted to cancel my appointment because he didn’t see any reason to see me. Clearly he never reviewed my test results showing low blood sugar levels, a nodule on my thyroid, or the notes from my previous 2 doctors (both part of DMG). His nurse then called back to say he would see me but that there was a problem with my insurance. Not sure what that problem was since he was listed as taking it and I confirmed he took my insurance before making the appointment. I saw a different endocrinologist and within 5 minutes he knew something was wrong and ordered about a dozen tests to determine the problem. Bolisay must just be lazy.

Weeks ago, on referral from another doctor at Pronger, I made an appointment and waited several weeks for my appointment date. A week before this appointment I was told by his nurse, that he’s not accepting new patients. If I was told in a more timely fashion, I could have made another appointment with another endocrinologist. The nurse asked him if he could fit me in, due to my symptoms and was told no.

I saw Dr. Bolisay last month. The staff was very courteousness and as I was familiar with the Blue Island office I knew to look for the staff and tell them I was there. Doctor was very polite and took notes on my history. Looked at the reports I brought. It was decided to see him in a year after another ultra sound of my thyroid. Before I was even home he called me and said he had reviewed my films and thought I should have a biopsy done and not wait. I agreed. Now that was quick.

Today I called to get in to see Dr. Bolisay for my hyperactive thyroid. My doctor told me to get in ASAP after receiving my blood results. I waited all day to hear back from his nurse to see if they could take me sooner than March. He ended up saying no, that he would not see me and that I should call a different doctor. What doctor says no to a patient that really needs to be seen, especially with a referral from the primary doctor saying I need to be seen right away?

Arrogant doctor needs to be sanctioned by DuPage Medical Group and state of Illinois. I was 15 mins late for appt and was denied service even though he had other openings an hour or so later. Told nurse I'd take later appointment. Doctor doesn't do because it's against his "principle." Has openings, patient is here and won't see me. What sense does that make? I'm in bad pain with serious diabetic issue. He's only diabetic doc on staff. I've waited for him for 2 hours in past and he does this? BS

Love Dr. Bolisay. He is my favorite doctor of all. He listens well, is compassionate, and honest. Will spend as much time with you as necessary. As for office staff, and procedures of medical facilities, I have had my share of issues, but Dr. Bolisay is worth dealing with them.

I arrived for my 2pm appointment today and the receptionist informed my that I'm not scheduled for an appointment. So,long story short. When dupage and pronger merged there was a computer glitch and some of the appointments didn't transfer over. So unfortunately I was one of them. I'm thinking no big deal Dr. Bolisay will squeeze me in. The administrators asked him twice and he said absolutely not and I would have to reschedule. I waited five weeks for this appointment.looking for anew DR!

HORRIBLE-Had 11:00 new patient appt w/Dr. Bolisay. Arrived @ Blue Island office @ 10:30, check in time was 10:45. I paid my copay & went to waiting area. There's no check in desk but was the only person there. My husband & I waited 1 hour & no one came for us. A woman walked in & the staff came out & took her right away. After my husband questioned this, we were told Dr refused to see me because I wasn't there??? Staff would have noticed me had they not been worried about a cake upstairs!
