Dr. Tendler is so kind and non-judgmental. He's helped me through several difficult patches. He's also a patient teacher- he is great at explaining the science behind his treatments (and I ask lots of questions!) Also really like how involved he is in the front-lines of medical research. I feel that I am getting the best treatment out there. Highly recommend!

Patient and Flexible
Doctor Tendler treated me twice in the last three years with TMS for depression. Both Dr. Tendler and his staff are so patient, and spent so much time with me and my family. They are flexible, and allowed me to reschedule my appointments multiple times to later slots when there was traffic. I could reach them on the weekends. I really felt taken care of.

Devoted and Available
Dr. Tendler treated me and one of my family members over the last few years after a trauma. I cannot say enough positive things about how devoted he is to his patients. He gives out his cell phone, fills out forms, calls back at night and on the weekends. You really feel like he is fighting for your team, always doing what is in your ultimate best interest without regard for his time or money.

Rude, condescending, disrespectful
Talked at me, without listening. Very arrogant, flat affect, no warmth or friendliness. Left wondering why he bothers working with clients at all as he seems to have zero interest in building a therapeutic alliance to actually empower and help people.

Ignorant, Rude, lacks compassion
I went to see Dr. Tendler when I was pregnant. I had recently moved to Florida and needed a psychiatrist that was familiar with peri-natal mood disorder. Due to mental health, I was advised by all doctors (except Tendler) to not stop medication under any circumstance. Dr. Tendler told me that I was a bad mother for taking medication that I needed. He also told me that my daughter would be born with defects. He lacked empathy and was probably the most rude doctor I encountered during a fragile time. I stood up crying and left. Thank god my OBGYN knew excellent doctors. I was able to receive the treatment I needed. If I would have taken Dr. Tender’s advice, my mental health would have been placed at the highest risk. There are enough psychiatrists to go around. I would avoid this one… if you want someone who knows what they are talking about vs. personal opinion.

Still left with no answers.
I walked into his office very vulnerable suffering from severe OCD, without a second thought I was rushed into TMS treatment. I was barely able to ask questions, and when I had second thoughts I was told I had already paid by booking it and if canceled they would charge (this was less an hour after leaving the office) . 40 sessions later, I might just feel worse. I needed my medications monitored, and ERP therapy as well. We met once about my meds, and I was told I had to have another consultation to speak again (this costs $500). Mind you I have already paid 15,000+ in the span of 4 months. I would raise questions on the timeline of my treatment, how it worked, etc. - no one could answer me. ERP is supposed to work in a regiment and they just said to come until I no longer feel bad. They left me with no trajectory, no next steps, and feeling more pushed back than I was prior. Mind you - I am young, have student loans, I thought this would change my life…instead I’m worse off.

Avoid him like the plague. He has no interest in his patients and will only make things worse for you. He contradicts the other doctors in the same practice and just shrugs when you press him on it.

I went to have a visit with DR. Tendler and he mainly looked at his phone when I tried to talk to him. He then told me that TMS would be very helpful. But it takes a lot of commitment and I couldn't do it with work but I was taken back that he didn't even listen to me.or or try to address my problems. His office was eerie and I felt very uncomfortable from when I walked in

Dr Tendler is Researcher, he does not care or work to help his patients. His only goal is to collect data for the TMS Company in which he is the Chief Medical Director. He charges insurance companies for procedures normally not covered for TMS therapy because they are not FDA approved. He does this by Manipulating billing codes for different diagnosis's. He then treats the issues that have not recieved FDA Approval so he can collect the data needed to move into clinical trials for other potential uses. Essentially this is fraud, you cannot bill an insurance company for a certain procedure when you are doing something else. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on American Greed one day.

Patient Beware – Apr 10, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Tendler?
Arrogant, and down right rude. If you do not agree with everything he says, he becomes agitated, aggressive and mentally abusive. If you are looking for a psychiatrist that has knowledge of, and knows how to treat patients with the appropriate medications. Then, save your time and money.
