Dr Carlin did my RNY surgery in 2012 and it felt like I never had the surgery. I had no pain and everything healed perfectly. He's so reassuring, kind, and sweet.

Took his time to listen and give me all options available. I felt like he was very knowledgeable and accurate. He was also very friendly and easy to understand.

Dr. Carlin spoke with me as if we were two old friends and explained every detail of what I was getting into with my surgery and why. The pros and the cons. I appreciated his humanistic approach. Extremely comfortable approach!

Dr. Carlin has been a "family friend surgeon" for some time now, having operated on my mother during her cancer and then on me several years later for bariatric. I truly cannot say enough about him and his entire team at Henry Ford Macomb. They went above and beyond every step of the way--before, during, and after surgery. He saved my mother's life and my surgery has been very successful as well. I love working with him and the entire team. Do not go anywhere else for bariatric surgery; this team is the best!

Dr. C has been my doc since 2008. He is an amazing and talented surgeon who passionately cares about his patients. As I am a one of his gastric bypass patients and have not followed all of his guidelines over the last 13 years he was to say the least not completely enthused with me or my lack of staying compliant with my supplements. I did not expect to be coddled, but did expect that same bedside manner that I had been accustomed to several years prior. I was a bit taken back that I did not get that. He actually made me cry. At first I was really hurt and upset that it wasn't the sit down/catch up, beat the bs like it had been before when I was in my first few years. I left disappointed and hurt. I had already walked in with hesitation knowing I was a total failure and left feeling like he also thought I was a total failure. Today I see it with a little different light. He cares about me and wants the best always. Hard truth isn't nice but necessary. He's the best doc EVER!

My experience with Dr.Carlin and his team has been a very great experience. They have been nothing but friendly, supportive, helpful, caring, honest. I would definitely recommend him and his team to another potential patient.

My experience with Dr. Carlin and staff was wonderful from beginning to end I do not have one complaint about the whole process. I don't regret one day having the bariatric sleeve surgery. I am on my way to a healthier, happy me. God bless you all!

Phenomenal surgeon that truly cares. First time with any doctor that I haven't felt like a number. He gets to know you and treats you like a real person and not just another patient at his "drive-thru"

I had the VSG procedure on November 12, 2019 by Dr. Carlin. Throughout the entire process he and the bariatric team at Henry Ford Macomb did an excellent job. Dr. Carlin cares about his patients and it shows in how he works with you and cares for you and your well being. The surgical process itself went great and I am very thankful I chose Dr. Carlin to perform the procedure and provide care throughout the process.

I recently had a vertical sleeve with Dr. Carlin. I cannot say enough about how amazing his RN and Dietitian are to work with before and after surgery. Dr. Carlin is one amazing surgeon, a diamond in the rough...not everyday you get a skilled, passionate, surgeon that has the amazing bedside manner and compassion for his patients as he does! Only 2 weeks out from surgery and I could not be happier with my decision, but without Dr. Carlin by my side I may not have gone through with the surgery!

An amazing Dr. He has that rare combination of being excellent at what he does while having top notch bedside manner. Usually you get one or the other. Can’t recommend him and his staff enough.
