Dr. Arthur S Pemberton, MD

My mother is moving to an assisted living facility and needs paperwork completed by Dr. Pemberton. He received the paperwork to complete on Dec. 11 and still had not completed it on Dec. 23rd. She is supposed to move in on Dec. 26th. I am currently camped out in his waiting room waiting for the paperwork. The facility will not let my mother move in without it. He finally completed it and did it wrong so it had to be done again. He did it again but the facility needed him to send a prescription to their pharmacy. He is now refusing to do that until he is finished seeing patients. It is an escribe so it is nothing but a click. Meanwhile, his patient, who has dementia and is home alone so I can handle this, is scared and upset because she doesn’t understand why no one is with her. I can’t leave until we have confirmation that this has been done because the facility is requiring it. This is a terrible way to treat a patient and I am so glad my mother will not be coming back here.

Always Attentive to the myraid complicated health issues

Dr. Pemberton has a great Bed-side manner, he listens and addresses all concerns. He does not rush his examinations,which could explain the difficulty in getting an impromptu appointment. He reads your chart, labs, meds in lieu of asking questions already documented in your records. When prescribing meds, he is always cognizant of other specialists prescriptions and will contact them to discuss changes and will refer his patients to specialists outside of his well-house instead of brushing you off and whipping out his prescription pad. He is very trustworthy, honest and practices with total integrity.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Pemberton for several years and have been very happy with his care. He takes the time to discuss conditions, explain treatment options and medications, involving his patients in decisions about the best treatment for them personally.

I've been seeing Dr. Pemberton for about 6 months now. I've waited until now to leave a review because some doctors can turn bad after a first visit. But Dr. Pemberton is great, hopefully he'll stay in Galax for decades. He's thorough, knowledgeable, and you don't feel hurried while in an appointment, and most importantly the office and facility is spotless clean. Excellent in all ways.

Dr Pemberton is a kind gentle man who will sit and talk to you face to face and discuss your problems he doesn't make you feel rushed he makes you feel very comfortable and he is very knowledgeable I would recommend anyone who has any anxiety about going to a doctor to choose doctor Pemberton at internal medicine at Carilion in Galax he is an awesome person and you feel like you've known him your whole life

I reqlly like dr PEmberton q lot, he's very throughl and answers any questions. He treats you with respect, never trying to make you feel stupid,,,never. He spends as much time as he needs to with you, never felt like he didn't have enough time for me. He told me the first time I seen him , very kindly ans matter of factly a few things I need to change. He was very nice doing it. .i love him . He's very kind ,

Dr. Pemberton is very thorough, and listens to your concerns. He answers your questions and doesn't make you feel hurried.
