A dedicated and effective physician
Dr Madaan runs a very comprehensive series of allergy and blood tests. These lead him to a quality diagnosis of your issue. I have 3 friends under his care and they rave about him as I do. He's very busy. Your initial visits will probably start a bit late, but the visits are generously long, enlightening, and not boring. He has improved many many patients lives and I am happy to be under his care.

Unusable Results
Took over an hour past the “safe” review period to read our allergy skin test result. The test results were completely unreliable by the time he got to the results read. Disappointing since he’s supposed to be so good.

Cares about patients
It's clear Dr. Madaan cares about getting his patients better and does his absolute best to help you. However, the staff is another story. Some shot technicians made up rumors about me and also had petty arguments with each other while injecting patients. Dr. Madaan is a big fan of allergy shots, and so far I haven't heard of anyone he hasn't recommended them for. He also seems to enjoy talking about his own background a lot during appointments, and sometimes I didn't feel like he'd heard everything I told him. Still, he doesn't give up on you even if you don't respond to treatment as expected, and that counts for a lot. He is very open-minded and believes your experiences.

A+++ Focus on your visit and be prepared to learn.
We have driven from Roanoke for the past 3.5 years with our family & extended family to see Dr. Madaan. He had helped me with my severe asthma with biologics & NSAID desensitization (I couldn’t tolerate allergy shots from our local allergist and had 4 anaphylaxis events). Dr Madaan worked with me with these alternative options that have transformed my life & chronic polyp sinus issues). My niece had long Covid and neuromuscular girdle weakness and Dr Madaan guided our Neurologist very professionally - she is now back in school after being crippled for 14 months. I am a Registered Nurse and normally don’t post reviews but this is important. Between pandemic related turnover in many businesses, and a lay person’s lack of understanding of their insurance plan’s coverage, providers get stuck with some folks who don’t understand the service or coverage and start posting comments. Check out the physician and the time he genuinely spends explaining everything in a compassionate way.

Excellent care. Staffing back in prior great shape
Covid did a number on staffing for them, but the care and staff responsiveness is back this past year. Dr Madaan worked extremely hard for months - I saw him leaving office late at night many times while I was out there for a walk. He is a thorough physician and takes his time with every patient. If you just need Rx and don’t want to know any more, you can stick with your primary doctor. I have seen him for over 5 years and he truly cares and has results to prove. Staffing issue was real for several months for them but they have weeded the bad apples out after feedback. Well trained, compassionate, extremely patient and with thousands of folks with good results who drive hours to see him (check out who’s who in the reception areas including multiple local physicians, nurses & professors who have seen others locally, like yours truly). Hope this helps someone make an informed decision.

Nightmare to work with
Every time I have had to get paper work done with them it has been like pulling teeth. The last straw was when I needed a little paper work done so I could get my allergy shots while away at college. I sent them the paper work and they said they would have it done soon. They never sent it back. I called once a week, every week, for two months about the paper work, for a total of 8 times, and it was still never sent to me. Realizing that nothing I could do would make them actually complete it and send it to me I choose to get a different allergist. So I called and asked to have the history paper work sent to me. They said it would be. That was three months ago and it was never sent to me. I finally got the paper work today by asking to have it printed out and offering to pick it up in person. I really feel scammed though because I have now lost five months of progress due to bureaucratic incompetence. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for allergy treatments.

Extremely Satisfied with Dr. Madaan!
After two years of treatment with Dr. Madaan I'm extremely satisfied with the results. Thanks to Dr. Madaan I have my life back. My allergies were really bad, I would wake up every day without knowing if my face was going to be swollen to the point that I couldn’t even open my eyes or even feel my mouth. Now, after two years I feel like a new person. Dr. Madaan is very knowledgeable and patient which meant a lot, not only for my health but also for my self-esteem. I read some of the other review and I'm able to relate to some of the issues with the office staff such as disorganization, timely billing, wait time and follow-up but at the end I knew that I was there to address my allergy issue with Dr. Madaan. I recently found out that they have changed some of the office staff so hopefully they will do good for Dr. Madaan.

Terrible. Office was dirty and dingy. Staff was rude and incompetent. Doctor himself was way too aggressive in his treatments, got defensive when questioned. On record lying to patient.

Excellent and very thorough visit. As a Systems Engineer myself, I can spot someone with a passion for their field and an eye for detail. Dr. Madaan met and exceeded all my expectations after a couple of failed efforts at other practices in the area who were very shallow and all about allergy testing only. I have suffered all my life with known multi-line antibody deficiencies, chronic rhinosinusitis and asthma. Dr. Madaan provided a state-of-the-art overview of things in an easy to understand manner. I just started seeing him 6 months ago and the difference in my health is day and night. I think it worked very well for me given my immune problems. I wonder how I would have fared through this Coronavirus Pandemic if I had not been stabilized and well managed for the past several months by Dr. Madaan and his excellent staff at CARE. I think people should know more about such a Comprehensive Immunology Practice that fills the huge gaps left by primary care and many piecemeal specialists.

Very thoughtful and thorough care. Dr. Madaan has been our physician since 2004. Three generations of our family have been extremely well taken care of by his office at this point. In our extended family, we have 2 grandchildren who have been fully desensitized to Peanuts and have done amazingly well. They have also seen a substantial reduction in eczema flares from 12-14 events per year to 1-2 minor ones at present. None of us have any active asthma symptoms anymore and have not even touched our rescue inhalers in over 2 years. We have nothing but the best words and wishes for this practice. As a plus, they allow sick people to walk in which has been a great service in savings us $$ going to the ER or Urgent Care, not to mention an immediate access to one of the best in the field! Need I say more!

Dr Madaan's careful work has always been excellent. Wait times are 'normal', as in sometimes I do wait some. I recommend him unreservedly. On another matter, I take issue with the (11) 1 star ratings. I believe they're false and just placed here to damage the good doctor's reputation. It's an odd distribution that he scored no 3 and 4 star ratings with (1) 2 star and (11) 1 stars.

Dr. Madaan and his staff have been extremely diligent in providing care to 4 of our family who suffered from severe allergies and asthma. My husband and 2 sons have already been doing so well that Dr. Madaan recommended stepping down treatment after about 2 years. One of my cousins took his child there for severe, anaphylactic peanut allergy - this child has since been treated with OIT and passed a challenge with 24 peanuts' worth of PB in the end, according to his mother. Excellent care!

Excellent visit! Dr. Madaan and his staff devoted over 2 hrs of their busy schedule to make sure I received the best care. I have never seen such dedication, detail and service orientation in a medical office team. Having moved to Charlottesville from New Jersey over a year ago, I should mention for other folks that Charlottesville has some very good doctors and then some very jealous ones who do not like the former and will do anything to undermine them. Took me a few months to understand that!

Dr. Madaan and his staff are genuine in their care and compassion. I was never rushed (unlike ALL of my other providers...) and he personally ensured that all my concerns were addressed in a scientific manner. He explained why he was ordering each of the tests (based on my long and complicated history). When the results came back, we sat down and reviewed them in detail to arrive at a conclusion with data on hand and formulated a plan of action that worked well!

This was the best doctors visit ever! Dr. M is extremely detail-oriented and offers a full-scale immune evaluation compared to my previous allergist who could not think beyond allergy shots! Dr. Madaan looks at the entire immune system based on the history and relevant findings! Excellent results for our entire family. My son and I had severe allergies and asthma but my daughter was having issues with IgA deficiency and not much about allergies. Delighted with outcomes.

Very detailed discussion of all of my chronic issues. This was hands down the best doctor visit I have ever had (I could not believe that a doctor could be so gentle, caring, thorough and spend so much time with me, as if I was the only person in his packed office). I have highly recommended them to at least 4 people in my office. Cough of 18 months is gone and I can now sleep at night again.

My son had severe milk allergy with allergy antibodies over 100 (over the upper limit of the lab's scale). We had 4 trips to the ER in NoVA and all allergy doctors told us to "just avoid milk and carry Epipens." Dr. M was able to offer us successful oral immunotherapy for severe Milk Allergy. Our son can now drink up to 3 cups of milk daily as part of his treatment without any symptoms! We have been thrilled that we don't have to live under the constant threat of anaphylaxis! Thank you, CARE!

I just had my first visit here last week after receiving recommendations to come here from at least six people I know. What a refreshing change from my typical doctors! Dr. Madaan is so well trained and extremely thorough in his approach to my wellbeing. He picked up on 2 endocrine problems in addition to my allergy, asthma & cough work-up. It's only been 5 days and I am feeling 100% better already. I waited close to 10 minutes while they worked on someone with an asthma attack.
