Dr. Ashley Lotfipour, MD

I was called in for a second mammogram. Dr. Lotfipour came in the room and told me I have calcifications and I can come back in 6 months. She asked me if I stress over something like this and said I could have a biopsy. I said of course I want a biopsy. The biopsy results came back as DCIS grade 3. I think that the offer to come back in 6 months from Dr. Lotfipour has been bothering me more than the cancer diagnosis. If I had waited 6 months, this would have been a much different outcome. Please be an advocate for yourself. I didn’t feel good about her the minute she walked in the room. She seemed preoccupied and inattentive. I’ve had many radiologists read reports and this Dr. was the worst. When it comes to a patient’s care options, don’t ask if waiting 6 months would stress them out before offering a biopsy. The Dr. made it seem like no big deal. Hoping this post will help others be their own advocate.

I have had my MRI and Breast exams at Hoag Breast center for many years. Each time Dr. Loftipour has been very professional and friendly. She is a wonderful doctor with a caring personality. She is patient and takes her time to answer any questions I may have about my exam. I feel very safe at Hoag and am glad to have met her at the Breast center.
