Dr. Ashley Mooney, MD

I don’t like to write bad reviews, but I hope she reads this. When you have a gastric bypass, they permanently alter your body. Things can go wrong. Many years later. The doctor should see you every year for the rest of your life. However, after a certain period of time, Dr Mooney told me she didn’t need to see me anymore, I did not need an annual visit. I should only come if I have problems. I recently called because I’m having some issues and I was told because I haven’t been there in three years, I am a not a patient, and they’re not taking any “restarts”. Seems unethical. The receptionist said if I have a problem, see my GP. But GPs know only know the basics about bariatrics. I am fortunate that I found out before I had an emergency. At least I have the opportunity to find a humane doctor now. If you are considering bariatric surgery, I would avoid Dr. Ashley Mooney. She only seems to want to make money on the new surgeries, which pay more than office visits.

Dr. Mooney has been so straight forward from the beginning. We ran into a lot of bumps along the way but she most definitely made sure everything was perfect and that I would be successful with the surgery. I had some post op complications but Dr. Mooney was on the phone 1am and 2am in the morning trying to work everything out. If that's not dedication to her patients I don't know what is. Most doctors would just put you off on an assistant. Thank you Dr.ooney for starting me on this journey even though I was doubtful.

Mindy the manager of this practice is going to run it out of business. the staff rushes you as if nothing you are going through is important. they just want to make money off your insurance, go somewhere else or you will regret it.

Dr Mooney is an outstanding doctor. She has a great personality, bedside manner, takes the time to listen to her patients and has helped me in my weight loss journey. Because of her I have my life back. I lost over 200lbs, she really cares, don't find that much these days. If your considering weight loss surgery I highly recommend seeing her.

I was stabbed (in 2017) in the abdomen very close to my Lapband port. I developed an abbess. I was medivac from Lakeland to TGH for an emergency removal of the infected band. Dr. Mooney preformed the surgery. Very friendly, and knowledgeable. I am returning to have her do a Gastric bypass 2020.

She was helping Dr Gonzalvo at the time of my surgery in 2017 and, she was such a great person. Took time to listen and, I look forward to having my follow ups with such a great Doctor.

A rare combination of skilled surgeon with an equally amazing bedside manor. Her care does not end with the last stitch and discharge from the hospital. Both she and her team of RDs, therapist and ARNPs help you with a road map to weight loss success. I truly felt supported throughout this whole process.

Dr. Mooney is currently my Bariatric Surgeon. She's one of the most amazing doctor's I've ever met. She's so compassionate and really care about your well-being and meeting your needs. I ABSOLUTELY love Dr. Mooney she's one of my BIGGEST cheerleaders.

I first met Dr. Ashley Mooney in January 2018 at Bariatric seminar at TGH Healthplex brandon fl. She is truly passionate about helping you achieve a healthy life. Made me feel extremely comfortable when we spoke. I am getting my surgery done in December and I am truly happy it's Dr Ashley Mooney.

I wanted to take a moment and send a BIG Thank YOU to Dr. Ashley Mooney at TGH Bariatric Center. I came to the center more then 4 years ago because I was a Lap-band patient and was having issues. I then had it removed in Dec 2015 and then had Gastric Bypass RNY in Aug of 2016. Dr. Mooney was a fellow with the clinic and assisted with my surgery and had a major impact on my journey. She has amazing bedside manor and is compassionate, empathic, passionate and diligently works for her patients.

Dr. Mooney iamazing. She very caring and attentive to the pastient's need. I've beseeing hersince October 2017 and have received nothing but stellar service. She's performed 1 surgery procedure on me in April and it went well. She's doing my bypass surgery on July, 13. I have no complaints. She listened to my needs and made me feel that she has my best interest in mind. I definitely recommend Dr. Mooney.

Does not seem to care about her patients at all. Does not take the time to listen or help patients in need. Very disappointing!
