Dr. Ashton Schwerin, MD

Doctor Schwerin came in and explained my options when I broke my leg in a few places. At the time I was 98 years old and wanted to be able to walk again. She was candid about my options which I appreciated. She took the time and was very caring and truthful.

My wife came in at 3 AM with severe abdominal pain. She had the extreme displeasure of being seen by a Dr. Ashton Schwerin. Schwerin had her take a CT scan. The CT scan came back with nothing. So instead of going over next steps, trying any more tests, or doing the work of a doctor to actually figure out what was wrong, she instead decided to say 'well now you can have a Happy Thanksgiving!' and sent my wife on her way with a script for some anti-gas medicine. We will be filing a formal complaint against her and I've left multiple messages her supervisor to give me a call back so we can discuss what happened. And this isn't just our own experience, sadly. If you look up Ashton Schwerin anywhere online she has nothing but 1 star reviews. She needs to change up her priorities from being a 'travel and fitness junkie, dog mom, blah blah blah' to being a doctor. By the way, it was an ovarian cyst, not gas like Ashton thought.

Ma daughter came unto the ER doubled over in pain, close to fainting. The nurses were kind a.d caring. Pain meds given and tests run. The doctor came in and said there was nothing immediately 'life threatening' and my daughter could go home and follow up with her doctor. This doctor was totally devoid of warmth or compassion, minimizing my daughters symptoms. She seemed irritable and dismissive when we attempted to ask questions. It was traumatic for my daughter to have her pain and symptoms dismissed so casually and scary to not have any real feedback or direction. Will avoid Parkwest ER in the future. I have some Healthcare background and have never felt so dismissed by a doctor. I think she chose the wrong field.

I brought my mother into the ER at Parkwest on October 4th 2024. Her chief compliant with severe leg pain. She had blood pressure of 216/118. Dr. Sherwin focused on her pain addiction history from 30 years ago. She didn’t order any x-rays. She was going to order bloodwork before we told her to forget it because what’s the point her pain was in her leg. My mom couldn’t even walk. We had to roll her in in a wheelchair, she refused to do anything. She didn’t treat her for anything. I had to have my mom taken by ambulance from her home the next day when the ambulance crew got here. They immediately knew she had either a broken leg or a broken hip based on looking at the two legs one was shorter than the other once my mom got checked into a different hospital. They immediately found she had a completely fractured femur and a hairline fracture in her hip thank you doctor Sherwin for nothing I wouldn’t let you treat my pet. If you ever walk into the ER and this doctor comes in, leave! my mother could have bled internally with the femur bone being the largest bone in your body. It is very dangerous to let that go. She under went surgery and is still recovering as of today, November 20, 2024.

Too young to already have compassion fatigue and burn out. Will never return to Parkwest again.
