Dr. Ashwini Dhokte, MD

It took many years for my PCP to convince me to get a pap. My experience with Drs isn't good. I am overweight and have been talked down to and lectured by Drs for over 60 years. Everyone in the office that I saw before this Dr came in was very nice. When Dr. Dhokte walked in, I was greeted with 'hi. I'm dr. Dhokte. Do your exercise?'.... If I weren't sitting on the exam table in a paper robe, I would have just left. She continued to ask me about what I do for exercise. Nothing about why I was there, or even ask how I was doing, until after I told her my limitations and what I was able to do. It was humiliating. Her reviews were awesome. I can only imagine that they were all from small to average sized people. It's unfortunate that I was treated like I was. I was hoping to find someone that I would feel comfortable with. At this point, I doubt I'll try again anytime soon. I haven't been treated this way in a long time.

I was a patient of Dr. Whiteside, who retired, and I never thought I would find a doctor that could come close to her level of care. I LOVE Dr. Dhokte. She is so easy to talk to, very attentive, her approach is welcoming, and I felt she was very thorough. We only just met and I feel like I'm going to be in great hands under her care.

I went to Christiana Care ER for pregnancy complications. Dr.Dhokte is very sweet and has excellent bedside manners. She made me feel so comfortable, I was VERY nervous. She answered all my questions. She is an awesome doctor, wish I could have her has a primary care doc! Thank you Dr.Dhokte!
