Dr. Avrill Berkman, MD

Dr V. Berkman seeks to conform to the demands of his referral source rather than follow medical ethics for the client before him. He showed me his sitting stool and states that no one else here can sit on it except him. And the stool was at the opposite side of the room no one was near it. Then he tells me (a woman) to do a squat in front of him two times and l declined. That was just a couple of discomfort that l experienced that was out of scope of practice. His staff was commanding me and interfering. I didn’t feel safe that he had the right motive starting from his beginning statement.

I was referred to Dr. Berkman for a 2nd opinion re: a complex ankle fracture where I believed the primary orthopedic surgeon on my case was recommending an unnecessary second procedure. Dr. Berkman spent a considerable amount of time conducting a thorough consultation. Through a protracted explanation that made no sense unless one had medical training he sided with the other surgeon. It was later revealed to me from 3rd surgeon who knew him that he did not want to go against his referral source.

He has been amazing during the whole process. I feel that he has the patients best interest at heart. His secretary is great also.
