Get Ready for Frustration
Poorly run practice. Prescribed life saving medication and then didn't call it in the pharmacy. It took 2 days, multiple phone calls and then a drop in to their office to get the prescription finally sent in. Happened again with getting colonoscopy prep sent into pharmacy. Again after many phone calls and a drop in they sent it to the pharmacy the day before the procedure. And then to top it off, after having a colonoscopy and an EGD, they doctor did not speak to us! We were give an envelope and pushed out the door. No information, nothing. I guess we'll find out diagnosis and next steps in 3 weeks at a follow up appointment, while continuing to suffer. This practice is understaffed and seemingly run by a doctor that is either over his head or just doesn't care very much about patients.

Waiting for me to die I feel
They have canceled two appointments on me in the hospital citing whatever is going on and everyone they give me I can’t get off of work so now instead of having it done next week and now we’re looking at April 3 months later my cells have changed my esophagus, which could be lean to cancer, and my heel hernia still has not been fixed so I may have to look elsewhere for a doctor that keeps their appointments and has appointments available readily for their patients to get work done so that was stage one cancer does not set in and it does sentence does not sit on you because that’s what I feel like telling me right now. Is that that sentence just waiting to happen

This place was total chaos, start to finish. You know when you walk in and everyone just looks like they hate their lives? That's this place. I was scheduled to see their practitioner April, but got shifted to another nurse last minute. As a side note, when I sat in the chair in the exam room, the chair next to me was covered in white specks. The nurse or medical assistant who took my vitals noticed and said "oh my, that last lady's skin. I'm so sorry let me clean that up" and wiped the chair down with a bleach wipe. I'm sorry. HER SKIN!? SKIN FLAKES!??! Anyway, the nurse / practitioner I got for the consult was totally confused about my being there despite explaining that I tested positive for celiac-indicating antibodies. After a ton of questions and explanations, she stepped out into the hall and I overheard her asking another nurse what to do with me since I'm pursuing celiac diagnosis. The other curse confirmed I'd need an endoscopy with biopsy (which is what I'd been explaining). The nurse came back in and provided an unwanted lecture on taking birth control for my anemia (also a celiac symptom) and went on a tangent about how she realized she didn't like how gluten made her feel so she just stopped eating it (okay???)... I explained that eating gluten for even just a week for the blood test was debilitating for me, and that I needed the endoscopy done asap to avoid having to eat gluten again. Caught big attitude about that and an eye roll as if I was being dramatic. So she finally got through the tedious appt and scheduled me for an endoscopy. I checked in with my regular doctor after that first impression and explained how crazy the appointment was, but she encouraged me to keep the scheduled endoscopy since it's the soonest available time frame among all of the gastroenterology specialists in town. Thanks snowbird season! Fast forward two weeks later, we got to the DAY BEFORE the endoscopy and the surgery center that performs the procedure called to CANCEL my appointment because my insurance denied the authorization request. THESE CLOWNS neglected to attach my lab work that indicated the celiac positive blood work! They claimed they didn't get that in the report from my doctor, which I confirmed was bs, but even still - why wouldn't they have asked for that lab result when we discussed it SEVERAL TIMES over the course of the appointment?!? Of course cigna won't approve an endoscopy request for an otherwise mostly healthy individual. This was just plain incompetence. That nurse had no business performing that consult. If you're so busy that you can't provide quality service, just say no. "No, we are not taking new patients. We are at capacity." The next appointment they have is weeks out if I was even willing to trust them again (I'm not). So I'm basically back at square one. If anyone has been through autoimmune testing, you know how exhausting it is even to get to this point. Get it together total gastroenterology. Unacceptable.

Dr. Ahmadi is missing
I tryed to get an appointment with this doctor for more than six months. All I could get was an appointment with his nurse practitioner. When I had a colonoscopy I received four different sets of instructions for the same procedure. His practice is so big nobody really knows anything about anything. It is an extremely impersonal and inefficient way of treating patients. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Below par experience
Every interaction I’ve had with Dr. Ahmadi and his office has been below my expectations for professionalism. Every contact with them has included wrong information. I finally left the practice when they lost my chart, but I still get calls from them asking to confirm appointments I didn’t make. When I call to ask that I be taken off their list, I get rudeness. I’ve never written a review like this, but I’ve never been treated like this at a medical practice.

He improved my quality of life!
Dr. Ahmadi is very knowledgeable, thorough, and proactive. I have struggled with acid reflux and constant heartburn for over 10 years with no resolution, even undergoing surgery with a different doctor, which I had no improvement. Dr. Ahmadi performed a TIF procedure on me and I haven't had heartburn or reflux once since my procedure. I am almost weaned off my meds. I am so happy to be able to eat and not have constant heartburn. Dr. Ahmadi knows what he is doing and April the P.A. is caring and knowledgeable with my aftercare follow up. They have improved my quality of life. Thank you!

Was scheduled for an endoscopy. Never met the doc prior to proceure and never will. I waited 2+ hrs in the waiting room at Doctors hospital in sarasota only to be told it would be a few more hours. I walked out. They wont be getting a dime of my county insurance and I will never refer or encourage anybody to use this doctor.

The place where he sends patients for colonoscopies is probably the most unprofessional place I have ever been to. The waiting room area was dirty (not a way to make a good first impression). Had an appointment for 12:30 pm and they did not start the procedure until after 3 pm! They should have called to let me know they were running so late before I arrived. The nurses/staff in the patient holding/prep area they first took me to after the waiting room are very unprofessional and while patients are lying in bed waiting to be taken into the procedure room and trying to relax prior to the procedure, they chit chat and talk and laugh loudly as if they are chatting after work at a bar about social things (and the biospies of the patient ahead of me). They should only be speaking about work-related issues in front of patients! So unprofessional!!! Someone needs to train them on how they should behave and act around patients. Would never recommend to anyone.

I had blood in my stool and started seeing Dr. Ahmadi in September 2020 & after so many disappointments I decided it was time to drop him and go with another gastro. It is now May 8, 2021 & I am still having the same issues I came to Dr. Ahmadi with. He is like Houdini. I made an appt and sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes only to be told that Dr. Ahmadi was not there. I asked why didn't anyone call me to cancel and the reply was bec no one saw him leave?!!?? The office staff is rude. The times that I actually saw Dr. Ahmadi, he was always rushing me and when he was going to prescribe something, he would look at the nurse practitioner almost as if he was asking her what to prescribe. He preformed 1 colonoscopy in Sept and a sigmoidoscopy in Oct, still not giving me a diagnosis. Before I decided to leave, he mentioned he might need a 3rd colonoscopy. Billing was incorrect and was double charged. I had labwork done & office lost my results. Horrible experience.

Terrible experience, much like what others have mentioned in review. Never actually saw Dr. Ahmadi, only a few minutes before I was knocked out for my colonoscopy. I also had colon issues for months, but I could not access him only his back up doctor who was horrific or his nurse practioner who while very good did not have the medical background necessary for my issues. I ended up almost dying from a colon bursting. Horrible, don't risk your life being seen at this practice anywhere in FL.

I had to wait about a month to get an appointment and the waiting room was so packed with patients despite COVID, some had to stand outside. It was two hours before my name was finally called and I didn’t even get to speak with the doctor. A rather surly nurse practitioner insisted that I needed an endoscopy, but I would have to wait another month for the procedure. She couldn’t tell me if my insurance would pay for it, but she scheduled me to drive forty miles to Winter Haven without even asking if I wanted the appointment. It’s obviously a money making operation which has little concern for the patient as a person. I decided that was the last time I would have anything to do with Dr. Ahmadi.

My bad experience was with the office staff. Yesterday at the office in punta gorda, called me up to the desk, said I had a balance of over 200.00 dollars, and a co-pay of 33.00 dollars. I understood the co-pay, but not the other. Loudly around other patients they told me I would not be seen until it was paid. I WAS so embarrassed. They claim they called the main office and I was told if I could pay 85.00 dollars, I said I wouldn't have it until Friday when my husband gets paid. I told them as soon I get paid I would mail the payment, and they could mail my results to me. I've never had a problem with Dr Ahmadi, but now I still don't have my results from my colonoscopy. I truly hope the main office reads these reviews and fix the problem. Also I went home and looked at the only bill I received was for 141.00 dollars. So I don't know where they came up with the difference.

This "doctor" almost killed my husband! For months he only saw him once a month while my husband was having diarrhea and vomiting, and losing weight and all he did in 5 months is try different medicines on him. Never did he do a CT scan on him!! Finally, one night he fell in the bathroom and could not get up. I called 911 and they took him to the hospital. When I got to the hospital in the morning, he was just coming back from surgery. His colon and ruptured and spilled into his abdomen. They removed his whole colon and now for the rest of his life he will have to wear a bag on the outside of his body. He lost a total of 65 lbs. He looked like a holocaust victim when he came home at 107lbs. NEVER go to this man for anything!!!

Clinical staff is terrible, you have to wait 30 minutes from the time you should have made your appointment, and they are dishonest, they will tell you something from a telephone conversation before your appt, then they will charge you for office visit without informing you in advance, they're a fraud.

Office procedures are the worst I've seen. If you have an appointment, you might as well clear the entire morning (or afternoon). They chronically overbook and never give any updated information about how long the delay is going to be. Also, while you're waiting for a couple of hours, at least in the Bradenton-Lakewood Ranch office, there is no restroom in the waiting room. It's almost like a spoof of the classic poorly-run doctors office - except it's real.

Terrible. The office staff is incredibly rude and feels like you a bother rather than a patient that needs guidance. The doctor barely comes in the room and when he does, he scares you by saying go to the ER. That's their answer for everything when you call them with an issue. They also told us we have to wait 7-10 days to get our blood work back. We got the same blood work done on the same day with another doctor and got the results in 24 hours. I do not recommend him.
