Follow up
Over the weekend I had an eye stroke that was diagnosed as a CRAO. Once discharged I was referred to Hampton Roads Eye Association and was recommended to see Dr Chan Nguyen. Dr Nguyen was smart and quick but if bedside manner is important to you as a patient I would not recommend her. She unfortunately delivered me some bad news and that is not on her, but she didn’t show any sympathy or compassion to me until she looked up and could see me tearing up to the news and then it was what felt like an obligatory response. Even an unprompted “I know this sucks..” would’ve been better than the looking up, being surprised and then giving me a general “yeah I’m sorry” again I don’t blame her for the diagnosis, just not considerate.
