She gives you her full attention always
We have used Dr. Stevens for 12 years. We've seen her have bad days, and she is always running behind-- BUT that is because she never rushes a patient. We have seen her care for my kids (trekking to the hospital daily to check on them herself when they were admitted). Every question I have is always answered. Every middle-of-the-night or weekend page is answered quickly. I have literally trusted her with my kids' lives. She is quirky, and brilliant, sometimes a little pissy, always super careful and scientific, and I despite a few times she has annoyed me, I absolutely love her. I have definitely wished she were a family practice doctor so I could see her too.

Great care!
My husband and I sincerely appreciate the care and interest Dr. Stevens has shown in our baby. We have recommended her to a number of friends who have also had positive experiences.

Dr. Stevens has been our 14-year-old child’s pediatrician for the past 12 years. Yearly well visits are very lengthy, but that is a good thing. This doctor doesn’t rush, takes time to really listen, and finds ways to gently elicit responses from our kid about delicate subjects so that she’s seeing the whole picture— physical, mental and emotional health. She’s got a funny, silly side that appealed to our kid very much when she was little, which built trust and helped make doctors’ visits less scary. Even when Dr. Stevens was being silly, she never seemed to be talking down to our kid. She’s patient, and answers questions (both parents’ questions and kid’s questions) fully and compassionately. She stays up-to-date and easily talks about how thinking is evolving, around basic things like diet but also more complex medical issues that are relevant for our family. (Sometimes I wish that she wasn’t a pediatrician so that she could be MY primary care doc!)

We often had to wait over an hour in the lobby. When we did get in to see her she always seemed nervous and frantic. She would make my kids feel anxious and one time one of them Evan asked "is she ok?" When my son was 8 she asked me in front of him "Has be been diagnosed for autism because he seems autistic to me" . This really troubled my son and upset me. She once admitted my youngest child to the hospital for asthma. After 12 hours in the hospital the pulmonologist and on-call pediatrician listened to his lungs and heard nothing and said we could discharge. My son's blood oxygen level was 100%, he was going stir crazy in the hospital room. Dr. Stevens insisted that we stay another 24 hours for observation. When I mentioned that medical professionals in the unit said we could discharge she said she would report me to CPS if we left. That was the last time we saw her.

I do not recommend this Doctor 1. The Doctor told me to take my daughter to the free vaccine clinic because they don't have the 6th months vaccines. 2. a day before her 4th month appointment they called me to tell me that they don't take my insurance anymore. They could have notify me before since this is the 6th visit yet what made me furious was when she couldn't give a price to pay out of pocket for a standard visit. it seems like something fishy is going on.
