Dr. Barry Donner, MD

DO NOT waste your time w “Dr” Donner. This guy has forgotten how to treat a patient. The first red flag was the fact that I had to have a phone consultation for my first visit, no in person appointment. He was extremely rude front start to finish during our call, which lasted a whopping five minutes. During those five minutes he barely listened to me, interrupted me several times and told me that “99% of the time nothing is wrong with my patients.” Told me that he would do an endoscopy for me if that’s what I really wanted but that “guaranteed he would find nothing wrong.” What???? No mention of looking at my previous tests and that “most people learn to live with it.” He also took a personal call during our call and then went on and on about why he had to take the call. Hinted that my issue was a symptom of anxiety, tried to tell me I should see a different doc and when he could tell that I was fed up with his nonsense, told me again nothing was wrong. So completely unprofessional!

I highly recommend Barry S.Donner,M.D.,Gastroenterologist @ Saddleback Medical Group. He gave me the highest level of medical care that I've ever experienced in a Gastroenterologist. The Upper Endoscopy procedure and follow-up report were extremely thorough. He is a highly skilled, caring physician, dedicated in providing exceptional care. Prior to seeing Dr. Donner, I had been so ill with severe pain in the abdomen, bloating, gas and nausea. Food and liquids went down very slowly and got stuck. I was unable to throw up, had severe heartburn and other symptoms. Dr. Donner is the only physician that gave me a diagnosis. He has referred me to a surgeon for follow-up operation for a tight Fundoplication. My husband is also very impressed with Dr Donner. His follow-up is excellent, quick and responsive. He is truly a caring, patient, compassionate physician. I trust him implicitly, so thankful to have him as my Gastroenterologist.

Dr. Donner was friendly and listened to me. He went out of his way to accommodate me. Very direct, which I appreciate.

While preparing for and having a colonoscopy is a pain in the a—, Dr. Donner and his staff were absolutely wonderful. From the minute I walked in their surgical suite to the wheel chair departure, EVERYONE was gracious, competent, gentle, informative and reassuring!

Dr. Donner is an exceptional physician… you can’t get any better… he has taken care of our family for years! His skills and knowledge are superior! Dr. Donner is very friendly and makes you feel at ease. His staff also wonderful! Don’t look any further as his care is number one! The whole medical group is great!

So, for a visit no one wants to have, they make it as stress free as they can. The biggest hurdle was getting in their system at the get go since they are in demand. All of the staff was friendly and understanding of any concerns. The doctor was very personable for the preop call and very calming about it all. Very pleased with my doctor selection (although certainly happy I shouldn’t have to go again for 19 years!)

I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy performed by Dr. Donner. As usual his care was thorough and professional. His beside manner impeccable. He really show that he cares for the well being and health of his patients. How many doctors today call their patients before a procedure. He is also willing to anwser any questions I ask. His staff is a reflection of his work ethic and high standards. To date, I have no complaints.

I've been a patient of Dr. Donner for 25 years. He's thorough and speaks so you can understand what he's telling you. I have the utmost confidence in this Doctor.

Dr. Donner has done two colonoscopies for me in the past five years. His knowledge, skill and up-beat communication put one completely at ease. Everyone at the Digestive Care Center contributed to making this procedure as care-free as possible: Janet, the Dr's Assistant, Nava, the check-in person, and nurses Hollie and Stacie were fabulous. The whole procedure went smoothly and 100 percent professionally.

Very thorough!! Gives explanations that are understandable to all education levels, particularly those without medical knowledge. His personality & whit add to a positive experience.
