Dr. Barry Krakow, MD

Dr. Krakow was incredible when I scheduled a zoom appointment with him. He was warm, very focused and present on the call, and really got to he root of my sleep issues.

Dr. Krakow diagnosed me obstructive sleep apnea. After unsuccessfully trying to treat this, I moved on and saw three other sleep specialists, each of whom made it clear that they viewed Krakow’s sleep study results with suspicion, in one case even prior to doing additional studies. Subsequent testing confirmed that I do not have sleep apnea. I’m so frustrated that I spent so much time and money trying to treat a condition I don’t have. When I was working with Krakow, I had to have an unrelated procedure. I was concerned about how my sleep apnea (which I thought I had at that time) might affect me while under anesthesia. I contacted Krakow’s office to ask if he had any info. I should pass on to the anesthesiologist. Krakow called me later and angrily lectured me, exclaiming that my attempts to contact his office were “inappropriate”. Despite my calm explanation, he offered no understanding whatsoever and was completely unapologetic. There is just no excuse for this kind of conduct.

I came in with a severe Restless Leg and I had not slept well for a year, even after seeing other Sleep Centers in other states. My treatment started with a sleep study on Monday, August 8, 2016. I had an appointment with Dr. Krakow later in the morning of the 9th. We went over a plan how to deal with the restless leg meds and my bi-pap machine.. I highly recommend this doctor. I am feeling much better in just one week.
