BEWARE OF DR. BARRY SAFFRAN
Be Aware - That when it comes to Dr. Barry Saffran on review websites throughout the internet, you will find that some comments are real but Most are Fake. Probably posted by Dr. Saffran himself. He certainly devotes much time and effort to 'doctoring' his image. He and his staff stay quite busy at covering-up his misconduct by removing and pushing to the back and burying so many of his past patients' bad experiences with him and negative online reviews (you won't see most of them), and then they go on to mendaciously make up and post fake positive 'self-flattering' comments to deceptively prop-up their ratings (as much as they can). ... You have to ask yourself, is that something Established 'Ethical' doctors need to do? Why is 'That' necessary? .. Out of THOUSANDS of patients, they can only 'persuade' and 'coach' a very small handful of them 'to stick up for him'. If they were in my shoes and experienced the side of him I and many others did, they wouldn't do that.

I have been seeing Dr. Saffran for many years. He is very caring and a great communicator also he has a great personality and knowledge. His front office ladies are so sweet, and his nurse is very caring. Dr Saffran removed hardware from my large left toe that had been there for several years, and I always had pain. He contacted the doctor that installed the hardware and was able to get the information he needed. He took the time to research the type of screws and got the necessary surgical tools to remove them. Overall, I would say he is one of the top doctors in the area.

Dr. Saffran provided care for my 7th grade son. He was very thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and very insightful in terms of how we should proceed with his care--cautiously. I am thankful for that approach, especially since it involves a child, who is still growing. I would highly recommend his services, and, as a mother, appreciate his care. He is trustworth.

Horrible. I was referred to Dr. Saffran by another podiatrist who stated I needed surgery to fix my problem. He said Dr. Saffran is the only doctor in Northern Virginia that can perform this type of surgery. I saw Dr. Saffran 5 times. Each time it was like I was starting from scratch. I had to explain my situation and why I was there. He ordered an MRI when several previous doctors had told me an MRI wouldn't work for me due to metal in my ankle. He assured me I would be fine. I had the MRI and lo and behold it did not work. He was unable to see anything different from an x-ray due to the metal. I was charged $1200. I never had a clear understanding of what the next steps would be on fixing my issue. I was charged $15 for a copy of my records which were inaccurate. On one visit he had remarks for the right foot when it is my LEFT foot with the problem. On 3 of the visits I had to wait over an hour to be seen. I do not recommend him. Don't waste your time or money.

Dr Saffran is a very outstanding podiatrist. I saw him for a broken 5th metatarsal, which needed surgery to fix. He is conscientious, an excellent surgeon, good listener, answers questions and attentive. I would highly recommend him and his support staff is super also.

I have been a patient of Dr. Saffran for almost 14 years. He was highly recommended to me by my PCP and other physicians at Inova Health. Dr. Saffran has always been a top professional and always glad to interact with his patients. He has a very good practice and knowledgeable staff. Patients always come first. I have recommended several other friends and acquaintances to see Dr. Saffran and everyone has been extremely pleased with his meticulous care. He is the best and I would not go to any other podiatrist.

Dr. Saffran did a wonderful job evaluating my condition and recommending appropriate action; he was thorough and listened to my symptoms carefully. I am still under treatment. Barry Saffran is the ' Inspector Clouseau ' of podiatry. He is a Pretentious Idiot Buffoon ' QUACK '. That is the most precise accurate description of him without using profanity ; in my honest opinion.

I have been going to Dr. Saffran for over thirty years for various ankle and foot problems (I have size 15 feet with weak ankles). In addition to treating minor problems, Dr. Saffran has performed two surgeries – one on my left ankle and one for a toe problem. These surgeries remedied my ankle and my foot problems and have restored my quality of health and normal mobility. I am very grateful to Dr. Saffran for his expertise and skills and for being the driving force in my foot and ankle.

I would NOT recommend Dr. Saffran or his practice to anyone. We were sent to this Dr. after a visit to the ER. The advice Dr. Saffran gave to "be patient and wait for the toe to heel" was just wrong. Several additional surgeons stated my son's condition wasn't possible to heal without surgery. We wasted nearly 2 weeks of time and going to Drs. appointments. The infectious disease Dr. he sent us to had NO experience with children and had NO experience with this type of injury/ infection.

Avoid Dr. Barry Saffran Barry Saffran is arrogant, has no bedside manner to speak of, is an extremely poor listener, his skills are not up to date, and his follow-up was substandard. This doc was a real disappointment.

I would absolutely not recommend him. He ordered a very expensive, completely unnecessary test for me. He mis-diagnosed the 2 conditions for which I came to him. I had to wait over an hour to see him while patients who came in after me were seen before me. He was very abrupt and impatient with me and did not answer my questions.
