I was referred to Dr. Alwattar for anterior hip surgery when his partner, Dr. Zwahlen, told me he didn't do the anterior procedure. Dr. Alwattar was arrogant, proudly announcing that he hadn't reviewed my chart or x-rays, and told me it would be months before he could fit me in. When I got upset, after waiting 18 months due to covid, Dr. Atwallar told me to look in the phone book for another surgeon. Cold, calous and cruel. I did get my surgery from another highly rated surgeon, Christopher Chen, in weeks, not months, and am well on my way to full mobility.

Dr. Alwattar was honest about expectations with my severe muscle damage, and yet kind and reassuring. He was able to schedule me for a complicated hip surgery, two torn muscles, one of them ripped off, months more quickly than over-scheduled surgeons at UCSF. He was able to repair and reattach the muscles. I had no problem with infection, and my scar is healing cleanly. He's been vigilant with followup checkups and generous with PT prescriptions, first with home PT, and now outpatient. I'm off the walker, using a cane, and have started to go out to performances and take walks. I'm so thankful for his help!

Dr. Alwattargave me a thoughtful preoperative evaluation and then performed an anterior approach total hip replacement. My hip was dysplastic, so it wasn't a standard case, but the result was phenomenal. Dr. Alwattar openly discussed and followed up on the one complication that occurred, and it turned out to be no problem for me.

I had two hip replacements performed within 6 weeks of each other this year. Dr Alwattar was my surgeon. Thanks to his skill and experience, both surgeries went very well. He was patient with me as I was initially ambivalent about the surgery. He is focused and calm, explains everything clearly, is highly skilled and very competent. I trusted his judgment completely and was not disappointed. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

Wow! This guy is a skilled sugeon and talented doctor. I destroyed my knee: broken patella and snapped the tendon. He was straight with me about the scar I would have, the amount of time I would need to immobilize and the foolishness of driving with my left foot.
