I haven't felt this good in years
I recently had a tumor excision that required a bowel resection. It was a stressful time for me after a PET scan indicated possible cancer. Dr. Dionigi came highly recommended by my gynecological oncologist. She did not disappoint! My surgery was a complete success, my pain was well controlled and my recovery is moving on nicely. I honestly have not felt this good in a very long time. She is thorough, well prepared and kind.

DO NOT GO SEE THIS DOCTOR! She does not care at all about her patients? pain and suffering. I had a recurrent perianal abscess and called on a Monday morning (when it was the size of a blueberry) to come see her for an incision and draining and antibiotics. I was told the earliest she could see me in for an appointment was Friday at 4:15 pm. I called every day to see if they had any cancellations and contemplated going to the ER for treatment. I came for my appointment on Friday (when the abscess had grown to the size of a ping pong ball) and because my Uber driver missed the exit on the highway arrived 25 minutes late (I had tried to call them to let them know I was going to be late but their phone system repeatedly doesn?t work!). When I arrived - clearly in a lot of pain, her receptionist told me she wouldn?t see me. It is now Friday evening when I would not be able to schedule to see another doctors until Monday at the earliest. She would not see me to perform a 5-10 minute procedure. She wouldn’t even come out to tell me herself instead having her receptionist do it. Heartless!

Excellent Surgeon
After several bouts of diverticulitis an my second bowel obstruction, I decided it's overdue to get it taken care of. I did my research and contacted Dr Dionigi. Initial consultation confirmed my high expectations. She explained the upcoming procedure thoroughly and patiently (no pun intended) answered all my questions. The operation was tough (due to my anatomy) but the surgery went very well. I did have some cardiac issues, post-op, but her team and other staff were right on top of it. Great follow-up later on also. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a highly skilled and compassionate surgeon.

Attitude & Compassion Count!
When I became confused by some instructions, she berated and belittled me in front of her staff. More than a year later, I feel the sting of her words and tone. There is no excuse for this behavior, especially when there are other specialists to consult.

Cherry picks patients
My appointment with her was arranged by the Columbia Patient Safety Dept. in response to a poor experience with another doctor. I waited 3 weeks. Only a few minutes before I arrived she cancelled pour appointment claiming" I'm uncomfortable seeing you". The good boy side was draw.. file a complaint means get black listed. DISGUSTING!

Stellar Doctor
I personally feel incredibly blessed to have had Dr Dionigi and her team as our doctor during the worst health scare of our lives. My husband had hernia surgery by a different doctor in another hospital and it went very very badly. He was transported via ambulance to Columbia to be cared for and is continuing to be cared for by Dr Dionigi and the entire team! What a life saving difference. If it were not for them he probably wouldn’t have made it. They saved his life. Dr Dionigi practices medicine with stellar expertise, heart felt compassion and UN-rushed patience. Dr Dionigi is not only one of the best in her field but one of the best people we have ever met that goes above and beyond at making sure that not only his body was healed but also nurtured our fears and emotions. Blessed to have her and the whole team on our side.

Dr. Dionigi and her team are supreme. I am beyond grateful and feel lucky to have crossed paths with her. She was referred for my mother's diverticulitis disease. She performed a colonoscopy and colorectal surgery. She was diligent, gentle, and empathic, addressing all our questions and concerns. She ensured her team kept me informed during both procedures and personally reached out concluding each procedure. During surgery day especially, I received live updates (as it turned out to be complicated and took longer than expected). The follow ups appts. were accommodated as much as possible to my schedule. After a stressful first half of 2022, I am glad to finally see my 74 year-old mother is on track to a full recovery after being treated by Dr. Dionigi. We couldn't have been in better hands. If you want superior service, Dr. Dionigi is a gem you will be fortunate to find.

Dr. Dionigi, the best colorectal surgeon
I highly recommend Dr. Dionigi. I’m a 46 year~old dad, healthy, until screening surfaced a 4cm tumor on my large intestine. Not a fun surprise! It needed to come out asap. My research and referrals led me to Dr. Dionigi. Beyond top medical credentials and experience, she was positive, kind and compassionate. She was always accessible, even proactive in communications. She was a strong leader in assembling other top Columbia specialists required in my surgery. I’m so appreciative of her during one of my lowest physical and emotional states. I’m lucky and thankful to have encountered Dr. Dionigi. Other pluses: she treated me at St. Lawrence Hospital and I’m grateful for the nursing care I received there, backing up Dr. Dionigi. It’s usually a team, not an individual, behind good outcomes.
