Abbadessa is the most thoughtful and caring colorectal doctor you will ever find. I actually cried when I learned he had left NYC. I’m still not over it.

I was a patient of Dr. Abbadessa’s before he relocated to the West Coast. Truly bummed that he moved, because he was an incredibly caring, unbiased, calm, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional doctor (and the list could go on). Truly must have been spoiled by his care because my current care provider seems like the exact opposite. He helped provide emotional comfort through his non-judgmental demeanor for an uncomfortable and somewhat stigmatized medical condition.

Dr. Abbadessa failed to follow-up post-surgery for TEN DAYS regarding a biopsy, knowing I have a history of cancer. I had to call and harass to obtain results. He was on his way out, moving to San Diego for his wife's new job, and never bothered to call or help coordinate finding a new doctor to handle follow-up. I had to navigate the Mt. Sinai health system all by myself and now that I've found a new surgeon within the system, I've learned there was an ointment I could have used to prevent a re

I highly recommend Dr. Abbadessa! He made me fat ease during my entire visit. While my visit was due to a uncomfortable issue, he was at all times professional and comforting. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and patient. His staff was also very accommodating and friendly. As a new patient, I was able to book an appointment for the same day within 30 mins. Many private offices do not take new patients on the same day, so I really appreciated that the staff took my concerns seriously.

My primary care MD, Dr. Lawrence Hitzeman is excellent and Dr. Abbadessa is equally as fine and caring a doctor. Dr. Abbadessa is super nice and very, very kind. He takes time, listens and does not rush through an appointment. He really seems like he truly cares about you. I highly recommend him.
