For a middle-aged woman, maybe go somewhere else
The office is a well oiled machine. If you are a professional athlete, this is probably a good place to go.However, as a middle-aged woman, I was out of place in a slick operationPerformed a failed hip repair in May. Was told my hip obviously needed to be replaced.Made the appointment but they would not back down from a mandatory nonrefundable $5000 fee. They charge everybody for extras that even Blue Cross Blue Shield does not understand.I did not realize just how bad all of this was until today. I just had my hip replaced somewhere else. (Dr Alvi at Barrington orthopedics ) It’s a miracle. My pain is gone. I was treated with kindness and compassion. I didn’t have to book the appointment three months out. I was seen immediately because I told them I was in pain. The other doctor even called my daughter who was grieving a terrible loss to let her know I would be OK. And they didn’t demand $5000 upfront

It was a follow-up visit after undergoing an arthrogram followed by an MRI. This testing confirmed what Dr. Domb suspected clinically but could not be seen on plain X-rays. He has outstanding diagnostic skills in addition to excellent clinical judgement.

Best You Can Choose
I've been a patient with Dr Domb for 2 years now to fix what the military broke. I have a medical background and have worked with all types of Dr's professionally in my time. He is top of his game. His knowledge level and the level of his staff far surpass that of others. He takes the time to answer all questions, explaining everything, treats you with respect, does not rush your time with him. You will fully understand your situation, choices, and prognosis when you leave his office. You will be listened to when you ask questions and not disregarded. Phone calls are quickly and fully answered. His surgical techniques are most the advanced. Post surgical, my PT has had nothing but positive comments on my healing, progress, Dombs advanced post op plans, vs patients from other local Dr's. After 2 anterior total replacements, I've had no surgical issues, have been off crutches, meds by my 2 week apt. I am expected to return to my excessively active live with no issues.

First visit-Torn Labrum Hip
Met with a lot of staff before meeting with Dr. Domb. All were thorough, professional and courteous and Dr. Domb was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. He took the time to answer all of my questions and walked me through the surgical process. I felt very comfortable with him and scheduled my surgery. The only downside was the long wait but that seems to be very common these days!

Work Comp 2nd Opinion
I was greeted warmly when I stepped into the reception area. Dr Domb’s Assistant was very thorough during the pre-visit session. Dr Domb himself was very personable and patient with my questions as I have been plagued with this injury for quite a while . I left feeling as though this was the first time that a provider actually listened, believed me and took me serious. Thank you!

Dr. Domb and staff are excellent listeners having genuine empathy with the best bed side manners. Dr. Domb is meticulous in all that he does which resulted in restoring my pain free hip function and mobility to that of years prior with a hip resurfacing procedure. Weigh the $ risk
The upfront fee of $5000 before surgery sets a financial barrier. While his reputation may proceed him as a skilled surgeon and a pleasant individual, the exorbitant fee creates a financial hardship. Moreover, my first surgery was not completely successful. Second Surgery, yep another $5,000. For me $10,000 cash undermines the principle of healthcare. Now I have to find another Surgeon. I gambled with the first expense. I can’t double down. Seems unfair to me. I wish his practice well, but it priced me out. Very dissatisfied.
