Dr. Benjamin Gonzalez, MD

Although your site refers to him as an ER doctor, he practices Functional Medicine. I would have given him no stars as he deserves none as does the practice in general, but I am unable to do so on the site. He is all flash and promises but without follow through of treatment plans. He thinks he is doing you a favor by reading reports from specialists that he said he wanted to learn from and work with to help you as team treatment. A complete and utter waste of time and energy to see him. Just trying to receive a bill that has a CPT and diagnosis code on it for insurance submission took weeks and multiple requests on several occasions. Steer clear, you have been warned!

I live in Northern Virginia and have made the trip up to see Dr. Gonzalez and his staff for the past five years. My husband had been going to him for years prior and told me that Dr. G would change the way I see doctors. He was absolutely right. Dr. G actually treats the cause of issues not just prescribing medication to cover them. Why was I 27 years old with no sex drive? Instead of just thinking it’s normal Dr. G walked me through my blood work and explained what each test actually does rather than just saying everything’s fine. He is sincere and treats the patients as actual people instead of just a body to get through the appointment and out the door. If you’re looking for a new primary care physician who actually cares look no further.

Dr. G is completely unlike every other doctor I’ve been to. He takes time with you to address the fundamentals of good health, rather than just addressing symptoms. Most doctors are in and out in 10 minutes and give you a bandaid solution in the form of a pill, but Doctor G. will spend an hour talking with you if need be, because he genuinely cares. He’s all about health, not profit. Preventative medicine, not reactionary pill-pushing which only treats the symptoms and not the cause. Once you see him for the first time you’ll never see another general practitioner again; you’ll see. He’s also very generous and a genuinely good person. I’m truly grateful to have found him.

Dr. G listened and included me in every decision along the way. He used objective information and matched that with my desired goals to create a long term plan to help my overall health and well-being.
