Dr. Benjamin Haslund, MD

Dr. Haslund is a very kind, caring, competent physician. He is interested in you as a person and makes you feel very special. He is very approachable and even called me at home to check on one of my medications. If I ever need surgery again I would love to have Dr. Haslund as my surgeon.

Dr. Haslund takes time with his Patients to assure that he answers all questions and adds additional information. He treats you as a human not just a patient. He is not only great in the surgical room but he puts you at ease through the whole process. A specialty he is able to do is re-route lymph node drainage to avoid lymphoedema associated with mastectomies. Pleased with my experience and surgical outcome.

Dr. Haslund is amazing! He instantly made me feel at ease with my cancer diagnosis. He is such an incredible doctor. His confidence and caring nature goes a very long way. I feel very lucky to have had him as my surgeon.

Dr. Haslund is extraordinary. I came in with a rupture appendix and he initially wasn’t supposed to be my surgeon. I had a waiting period and I think the universe was looking out for me! He was the most soothing and personable doctor I’ve ever met. He immediately put my very sick and in pain self at ease. My follow up appointment was even better. He is brilliant and extremely caring! Give this man a raise! Thank you for saving my life! I will talk about this very scary experience and the best surgeon for the rest of my life!

Dr. Haslund is the kindest person I have ever met in my 30 years of nursing I was his patient a few days ago.Scheduled for an emergency appendectomy he approached me with kindness and a real human connection. He held my hand genuinely gave me reassurance he would do his best to do it laparoscopically. He was with me just as I received my anesthesia and calmed me down from feeling anxious. I am a nurse myself, never have seen a surgeon with such caring behavior. Surgery finished great just as he had promised .s

Didn’t know why I was there for initial appointment that I waited 5 weeks for. From ER, while he was on call, he scolded the MD on my case to “cut it open again” even when they said they weren’t confident doing so. When abscess draining failed he pawned me off on PA in his clinic and never followed up, ever. Tells patients to pack their own wounds...which is impossible. OI left Tacoma for better care.

Such an amazing doctor and a great person. Made me feel relaxed and positive. Going through my cancer treatment was scary but Dr Haslund made it so much easier. I cannot recommend him enough.

I have a strong family history with breast cancer. I met with Dr. Haslund due to some atypical cells. He walked into the room and put me at ease with his knowledge and compassion. He and I were on the same page as far as what needed to take place. He explained everything that I needed to do and took his time with me. Nothing felt rushed or like he had somewhere else he needed to be. I was 100% his focus. If I every have to have anything done again Dr. Haslund is who I am going to.
