My experience with Dr. Karsten has been nothing but positive. He answered all my questions before surgery. My first appointment he sat and talked to me for over an hour about what to expect before surgery, during surgery, after surgery. My life after surgery. He was very honest. I had surgery when COVID was ramping up, which meant I could not see my family while I was in the hospital. He went out of his way to call my mom every single day to give her an update on how I was doing. Sometimes calling her many times a day. When I had an unexpected blood clot and then blood loss he was proactive. He made sure I was taken care of immediately. When I went home from the hospital and I had questions, I would call the clinic to ask to speak to him and then not even 5 minutes later he would be calling me. I called him at 2 in the morning and he still called me back that quickly. He cares about his patients. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would.

Dr Karsten performed a colonoscopy on me (77 year male) on March 2, 2018. Procedure INCOMPLETE. Unable to manuever scope into upper 30% of sigmoid colon (never problem in 5 previous colonoscopies.) Referred to radiology to complete w/enema procedure. Excess air/gas made unable. Called Dr K for four days. Rectum leaking/pain/excess gas. Returned caller day 5 later. Told "Dr's priority with his 'surgical patients."

Dr. Karsten and his team are wonderful. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. The office made me feel comfortable, well taken care of, and safe. Dr. Karsten spent excess time answering all of my long questions. He was patient, intelligent, and able to explain everything so that I could truly understand the best option for my quality of life. The staff is always friendly. I can't thank them enough.

The good: Dr. Karsten never makes you feel like he's in a rush. He takes time to listen and answer questions. His staff; Jackie, Maria and Misty are phenomenal! Put you at ease with a high level of professionalism but also show good humor and bedside manner. Typical wait time for appointments has been 10-15 minutes. Flexible scheduling. The not so good: My first appt I had to wait over an hour to be seen. I've always had to leave a message and wait for a call back to schedule an appt.
