New patient - First experience
In my efforts to find the right Dr I wish to work with I settled on Dr. McD. I'm interviewing him as much as he is diagnosing me. I am committed to finding a Dr that does not herd you 'in' and 'out' like cattle. I want someone that will listen and be an 'active' member on my health team. I enjoyed our first visit and feel I made a good decision.

He listened to everything I had to say and gave a treatment planned based off of the exam and conversation. He was friendly and informative.

I came in to get re-established as a patient, as my insurance changed. He was short with me, seemed almost aggravated to give me a referral to see my Gynecologist, and refused to reorder or even speak to me regarding my medications. He said that he did not like the medication I was on and said he will not refill it. I had serious issues after this from basically winging myself off. It was a terrible experience. The only positive I can give is the front staff was very nice, and I was in quickly. The nurse for him did not listen to me, nor did the DR regarding who I was needing the referral for. Lack of caring for patients.

I saw Dr McDonald and was quite impressed with his care. He listened to everything I had to say and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. He was very personable as well as professional. I highly recommend Dr McDonald.

If I could give no stars I would. I made an appointment to establish myself as a new patient. What a waste of my time. Would not refill most of my meds because he didn’t believe in them. Meds I have been on for over 20 years. He won’t give any pain meds, or meds for insomnia or anxiety. Wanted to send me to a pain quack and a psychologist for those meds. No bedside manner. Scared to death to prescribe anything. Treated me like none of my medical problems mattered.

Dr. McDonald is a great physician; however, he does not do women’s health. As a woman, I would not recommend him to other women.
