Dr. Monson did a great job diagnosing a rare autoimmune disease I suddenly acquired that caused sever headaches, chills, and skin issues. Not an easy disease to diagnose and he researched my symptoms and ordered the needed tests quickly. He had to fight the insurance company to get approval for the tests that confirmed his diagnosis. He started steroid medicine before the confirmed diagnosis that likely kept me out of the ER and prevented serious permanent damage that a delay in treatment could have caused. I have total trust in him as my main physician.

Dr. Monson and his staff are awesome
I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor to start with but I feel blessed to have found Dr. Monson. He's easy to talk to and has been good at listening and working to figure out my health issues. He's prompt to respond to calls or messages through their patient system. I have never felt he was rude or non-caring. I like the fact he's straight up and to the point with me. He's good at what he does and has one of the best nurses (Sanela) also. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Dr Monson can be nice. He can also be abrasive. I once asked him a question and he swirled his chair around as he was writing at his desk and asked, "And what would that tell us?" When his ever so nice nurse was in the room, she literally stood as far into the most distant corner as she could, as if she was afraid of him. He also once told me I could ask him only three questions during each visit.

Dr Monson had no interest in helping. He ran through the appointment. Did not answered my questions. I have literally never met another doctor as rude or careless. If I could give him zero stars I definitely would...

I have seen Dr. Monson a few times in the past couple of years. I wanted a family doctor and he is in the Family Medicine department even though he is an internist. On the plus side I think he is smart and his nurse is very nice. He asks some questions and listens to what I say. I am used to a GP doctor who talks more and is more outgoing, but the main thing is good care. Even if I find his personality to be more casual I think he gives me decent care. I don't like the small exam room and also the blood work is done after I see him. It is often busy. That seems to be an Iowa Clinic thing. Also unlike my past doctors, I get no chance to talk to him unless I am there even about test results. Its all done with an Iowa Clinic online email system. It seems very impersonal to me. If I could find a GP with in good office I would switch, but its not easy to do. I would grade him a C+ I guess overall.
