Dr. Bernard Gburek, MD

Over the past 8 years I have had several appointments cancelled at the last minute and I have been treated horrobly by Dr. Gburek's medical assistant Sarah, who is hands down the most rude medical assistant in the state! Why he keeps her, I don't know. Other patients have complained about her but the complaints fall on deaf ears.

Made an appointment for my husband. Had to wait three months. Finally appointment date arrived. Hubs showed for his appointment only to be told they had canceled the appointment. No notification whatsoever. So I phoned and pressed the issue and got an appointment for later in the day. Just as husband was arriving, he received a call from the practice saying that appointment was canceled, too. They offered him another appointment three more months out. Obviously, they’re not at all concerned about his issue. Callous disregard for patient wellbeing.

Let me start off with, Dr Gburek is wonderful. He is brilliant, kind and absolutely one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to. The issue is, ever since he merged with the HUGE group, there’s no easy way to reach him or is MA; it’s like a factory. The service is horrendous and it’s not his fault or his personal staff’s fault-it’s just the new normal since they did the big merger. I have a surgery scheduled and have been trying to reach his staff with a few questions and when you call, you reach a call center NOT in America. You leave a message and hope to hear back. Again, Dr Gburek and his MA are wonderful….. it’s getting hold of them that is the issue I find unacceptable.

I was referred to Dr. Gburek as "the best urologist in the Southwest." Unfortunately, that was not my experience. He was unable to find what was causing terrible pain in my groin, and finally just referred me to his assistant but had no recommendations about what to do for the pain. Fortunately, I ended up with another urologist who identified the problem (a blocked epididymitis) and removed it. I would give Dr. Gburek no stars if I could.

My family has been involved with Dr Gburek for over 15 yrs ( Wife, Myself and Mother in law. First rate in every sapect of treatment..One shortcoming is trying to get through on the phone..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

He's a very nice man but he doesn't given me the feeling that he is sure of what he's is doing or advising. He hasn't taken care of my problem even though I have been to his office 6 times and had him do two surgeries on me. He says "You're clear" but I still haven't been able to urinate on my own.

After thousands of Da Vinci procedures, Dr Gburek has the right combination of skill , and bed side manner. He has been my urologist for 7 years, on 12.18.18 he removed my prostate and 5 lymph nodes. I was immediately able to reasonably control my bladder right after catheter removal. I'm now 6 days post catheter and 15 days post surgery with no incontinency issues at all. His skill with preserving the nerve bundles, has made my recovery amazing. Back at the gym on light workouts, no pain.

Dr. Gburek is a superb physician, who cares deeply about the well-being and satisfaction of his patients, and is professional, kind, and compassionate. Dr. Gburek brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to each patient experience. Dr. Gburek is the physician you want to help you through any urological problem.

Dr Gburek performed a radical prostectemy on me in April 2016. Used DeVinci method originally and had to resort to conventing method when complications arose. Given the nature of the problem he did a magnificent surgery. He is a great surgeon!

My wife had her kidney removed about Four years ago with no adverse effects As of 8/01/17. I had my prospate removed just over two years with only Sexual problems due to my own fault. I wated much too long with a PSA of 22 And again I waited over two years to have Radiation and just have to wait three months for PSA

Dr. Gburek was the first surgeon in Arizona to perform prostate surgery utilizing the da Vinci Robot system. At the time of my surgery seven years ago he had used this system over two thousand times!! I'm happy to add my name to the list of his many satisfied patients and support the statement that he is number one in Arizona and most likely the world!! Thank you Dr. Gburek for your skilled mind and hands. . .

He initially was friendly and appeared knowledgeable. However, I found that he was quite inflexible and insensitive regarding his unwillingness to utilize other capable resources.

Visited Dr. Gburek & insisted on performing a scope of my bladder. He assured me slight discomfort because there would be some local anesthetic but unfortunately that did not numb anything & the pain was so severe that it was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever suffered mentally & physically. I have not been the same since. I called the office and Sarah was made aware of my discomfort & now pain but she was very cold and said will let the doctor know but have not received. Do not go here

I would not ever see this doctor with his medical assistant Sarah working there. I myself am a medical assistant and might I say that girl is extremely cold and rude. I had just been released from the hospital today for severe kidney issues; diagnosed by Dr. Gburek whom I trust but when I called to follow up with concern of my health the medical assistant had said Um see your primary care if your still having problems no the hospital and dr gburek advised me for his specialty, she is lazy
