Compassionate and thorough
I switched from Cleveland clinic Dr who was horrible! Dr. Pearla spent so much time with me explaining my condition. And gave me options. He is very no nonsense type of person but it’s his way of being thorough! And that’s what makes him such a great Doctor!

Terrible
I used to go to Dr Perlas office from age 1 to age 5. He always treated me and my mom terrible because I couldn’t sit still when I had to have eye drops put into my eyes. He would always yell at my mom for trying to calm me down. I now have trust issues with male doctors because of him. The fact that there are other reviews from people who are having the same issues I had makes me feel terrible for their children.

I've been going to Dr Perla since I was maybe four or five years old. He's always treated me really well and had a lot of patience with me during my visits. He helped my parents and me manage my amblyopia from a young age until I was probably 10 To where I didn't need surgery. I would recommend Dr Perla to anyone I knew who needed good eye care.

First time visiting Dr. Perla, and it's a shame I have to wait another year for my next appointment. Very easy to talk to, very professional, explains everything as he goes in a way that's easy to understand and he made sure to repeatedly ask if I understood everything or had any questions. I felt he genuinely cared for me as a patient/person and I wasn't just another appointment he had to see. Fantastic doctor.

I felt he was knowledgeable but he was very condescending to me, wouldn’t let me finish a sentence and was upset that my regular doctors office gave me 3 or 4 names to call because my doctor was out of town. I chose perla. I felt like i was treated like this because I’m an older lady. I will never go back to see him.

Amazing doctor!! So friendly, truly caring, and clearly very knowledgable and experienced in his field. He really took the time to make me feel welcome in his office. I will not be switching ophthalmologists any time soon!!

Absolutely awful experience. I could not believe he spoke to patients this way. The entire team was very unprofessional. I would rather wait at the ER for hours than to see this provider. Very disappointing.

As a doctor he is knowledgeable, however I didn't appreciate his condescending tone toward me or my 11 yr old son. We had to come in (on our pediatrician's recommendation) for an emergency appointment for a corneal abrasion. I couldn't find a sitter for my other 3 youngsters, who were all VERY well behaved-both in the waiting and exam rooms-but DrPerla made it VERY clear that the others would not be welcome at the follow up visit & he kept mentioning my son's ADHD TO him. We won't ever be back.

Dr. Perla was friendly and knowledgeable, and he was very good with my daughter - it's no easy task performing an eye exam on a 1 year old. He is the third eye doctor we've seen with her, and we're sticking with him.
