Dr. Bichha Kato, DO

I was a regular patient of Dr. Kato for the four years that I lived on Maui. When I moved out of Hawaii, my prescription for blood pressure medication needed to be refilled. I could not get an immediate appointment with any doctor in my new location, so I asked her office if they can refill the prescription. They refused because I changed my insurance to a mainland insurance company and they only accept Hawaii insurance plans - they don't accept BCBS from out of state. I asked why they need insurance anyway to write a prescription - I was told that they only write prescriptions for patients and since I no longer have a Hawaii insurance plan then I am no longer a patient. That just seemed cold hearted and uncaring.I thought that Dr. Kato was a good doctor in general, but it seems that her office is more focused on insurance and money rather than the health and well being of their patients. I am very disappointed in the doctor and her medical practice.

She doesn’t care. And it shows. Her knowledge and bedside manner is the worst I have ever experienced. I was asking questions and she responded “you’re obviously it happy with the service here” I never said that, I was just asking questions which just seems to irritate her. And she said the same things as so many other reviewers. “What do you want me to do?” Awful

Dr Kato is very professional and a good listener--I highly recommend her.

Dr Kato is very professional and personable. I am a retired physician on medicare and chose her as my primary physician after having worked with her in the past. She has a great background in medicine and I appreciate her and her knowledge. Do not hesitate to have her as your doctor if you need someone. She has been my physician for over 7 years and I couldn’t be happier.

Horrible. Mean, rude, short with no compassion. I walked out on her never to return after she coldly and inhumanely gave me a devastating diagnosis and would not share any other information with me. Do NOT go to her or her husband. Incompetent is not strong enough of a word.

Yep same experience as everyone else. I've been seeing her for awhile. My latest thing is a type of thumb arthritis that I'm trying to get a handle on. She said the same thing.. "what do want me to do?" She told me the bulges on my hands are normal. Which are clearly not. I wound up basically walking out on her. Yeah I would not recommend going to her..

I have gone here fir 2 years and each visit i feel she is rude and short with me. Today I had a appt for severe leg cramps she stated "What do you want me to do? I dont know! " I cried she walked out and left ne sitting there. My husband took ne to ER. They felt it was serious gave me a shot to relive the cramp, pills a wrap and followup apt. A Dr that adks me what to do is of no use at my age 63 hubby 67. Great office staff and nice building.

Over her head in medicine. Non personal and under educated. The worst I have seen in a long time.

Do not go to Dr. Kato if you are diabetic unless you want to be misdiagnosed and prescribed incorrect medicines. She clearly does not know the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes until it is too late and health is already compromised. I repeat, DO NOT go to her.

I was absolutely shocked at her bed side manner She was rude! To a patient? Unacceptable I couldn't believe her behavior I will never see her again and will let my friends & family in the community know to never go to her.
