Dr. Blake Staub, MD

Dr. Staub is the best back surgeon in Texas! I knew I needed three discs fixed in my lower back and interviewed about 10 surgeons in the DFW area before I decided on one to do my procedure. I am over six months out after getting three disc replaced and having very intensive lower back surgery that Dr. Staub performed. Dr. Staub saved my life fixing problems that I have had for a very long time. I would highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Staub and the Whole staf were fantastic. I could not have been more satisfied with my experience at the facility.I highly recommend Dr. Staub. I was seeing a clinic 15 minutes from me for several months for back pain. The pain kept getting worse. I couldn't stand or walk without extreme pain. I never seen a Doctor at this clinic, just a NP. Something had to be done. After a lot of research I found Dr. Staub and set an appointment. When I got there I actually saw the Doctor not an NP. He quickly set my mind at ease with the way he explained my MRI and the solution. AFTER Surgery I have not had the pain. I can sit and visit with family now instead of having to lay down. I can stand without pain. I can walk without pain. I had to drive 2 hours to see Dr. Staub. Knowing what i Know now I would drive 10 hours. I highly recommend this Doctor.

Dr Staub is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would have rated him a five stars. However the office staff is horrible, and seems unable to schedule accordingly or keep records or to understand what needs to happen next. They botched getting the necessary paperwork for prescribed injections, and I had to be in pain for weeks because of their delay. I had to intervene to get the MRI set up that was prescribed as well. So all in all the doctor's office ruins the care. I will most likely seek a different doctor.

I cannot heap enough praise on this doctor. After many years of disc degeneration, pain in the back, down my legs and difficulty walking, I finally had the surgery I was dreading. Should not have waited. Six weeks post surgery, I am absolutely pain free. Dr. Staub is outstanding in every single way. He explained every step of the procedure and how I would feel each week thereafter...absolutely accurately as it turns out. I would very highly recommend him and urge those in my kind of pain not to wait another minute. Make an appointment with this great doc!

Dr. Staub took on my father as a patient when nobody else would. He was a 77 year-old with generative disc disease and scoliosis impinging his spinal cord and nerves and causing constant pain. He believed he would soon be wheelchair bound. With two surgeries in one week, Dr. Staub addressed the disc damage, straightened the spine and resolved the spinal nerve impingement. Three months post-surgery my father is without pain; living a normal life; and feeling even better every week. I cannot recommend a doctor more.

The first visit, he gave me hope. The visit to Dr Staub gave me hope for the first time in several years of excruciating pain. I was passed around from doctor to doctor due to the severity of my condition. He fixed my back. The pain is gone and I have been fully ambulatory and pain free since. Five years today I'm still working, playing and doing everything I was before my back injury. Everyday I am thankful for Dr. Staub and his team and their incredible knowledge, skill, compassion, and care. I am forever thankful.

This is my first negative review. I value our educational system and highly trained medical professionals in the Dallas area, unfortunately, Dr. Staub is someone I can not recommend. The neck and back surgery were both in 2020. Physical therapy was not given. The back spasms along with the leg cramps and hand and feet numbness were present after the surgery and are still present today. During each follow-up, I explained to Dr. Staub the symptoms and pain had not changed. He would leave the room, come back and assure me everything looks fine. His solution was cortisone shots, which I had 3. Return phone calls from his office had stopped and after numerous attempts, I simply gave up. Forward to 2023, I have muscle wasting in both legs and calves, walking has become an issue due to chronic hip pain, and numbness in both hands and feet is continuous. I have another surgery scheduled this month. Dr. Staub might do a great job for you. For this patient, he feel short.

Performed back surgery

I have suffered with lower back pain for many years and have tried all types of procedures, injections, nerve blocks, medications, a rhizotomy, and pain management techniques. Some would work for a few months, or even a year, and then the pain was back. Recently, the pain became unbearable and I was unable to walk, stand, sit, or lay down. After meeting with several neurosurgeons, I finally found Dr. Staub. I liked him right away, as he actually took the time to review all my medical records and scans, and then listened carefully to my problem. He immediately identified and showed me what was causing the problem, and how he could do a minimally invasive fusion to fix it. The office staff was also extremely responsive and helpful. I had the surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago, and it has changed my life! I am nearly fully functional, but most importantly, I am pain-free! I had no idea this would even be possible. Don't wait any longer or let it get worse. Go see Dr. Staub and get your life back!

For years I was scared to go down the road to pursue back surgery even though I was in excruciating pain. If you are like me I’d like to reassure you that surgery can be successful, simple and provide life changing results. My doctor recommended Dr. Blake Staub and he is excellent and is also a kind and caring doctor. Please don’t wait any longer to get relief!!

I can’t say enough about how amazing Dr. Staub and his entire team are. I have had back pain for years but it went to a new level about six months ago. Once I found out surgery was required, I started interviewing neurosurgeons. Dr. Staub was very kind, knowledgeable and explained the entire process very thoroughly. I had surgery the end of Nov. to repair a Pars fracture that caused L5 to slip about 50% out and was crushing that nerve. I now have zero back or nerve pain. I highly recommend Dr. Staub and his team.

Dr. Staub and his team are professional, thorough, attentive, and compassionate. I had two stage surgery and am totally pain free. My back and scoliosis are straight. I no longer take any medication. My only regret is that I hurt for years. I certainly should have done this sooner. Thank you Dr. Staub for giving me quality of life.

I have severe scoliosis and have suffered with back and hip pain for most of my adult life. I've tried physical therapy, chiropractic treatment and injections and the last two work for a short time and then the pain returns. Dr. Staub didn't rush me to surgery and made sure I had tried the non-surgical options mentioned above. We discussed two surgical options, one big surgery to correct the scoliosis and a lesser surgery to alleviate my main source of pain. Since I was too nervous to commit to the full spine surgery, he recommended we start with the less invasive option to repair the source of my worst pain and build a strong foundation in my lower spine for the second surgery should I decide to do it. I had my first surgery in March of this year. He and his entire staff provided excellent care and the hospital and staff there were awesome! I no longer have that pain. The first week was bad but I would definitely do it again! I am now considering the second surgery. Love Dr. Staub!

My mom’s experience with Dr. Blake Staub and everyone at the Texas Back Institute has been superb. My 80 year old mom has been suffering with severe back pain for the last couple of years. She has tried everything under the sun to alleviate that excruciating pain before going under the knife. She honestly regrets not seeing him sooner. Dr. Staub and his staff made her (and us) feel very comfortable from the get-go. They answered all of our questions and have been so encouraging and supportive throughout this entire experience. The constant pain and discomfort she felt for YEARS was automatically gone after her surgery (late June 2022)! My mom feels like a brand new person - yes at 80 years of age! Thank you SO MUCH to Dr. Staub and his team!

I had pain and numbness in my left arm for a few years. First appt at urgent care and dr immediately let me know about the compressed nerves in my neck and said I should see his surgeon. He had the same issues. I was terrified and waited until I couldn’t even drive my car without excruciating pain. Dr Staub and his staff were amazing and made me comfortable with having the surgery. I am thrilled with the results - literally woke up and arm pain/numbness was gone. Only wish I’d done it sooner. Dr. Staub is kind, thorough and focused on patient needs.

Dr. Staub was great to work with. He explained the procedure well and gave me a lot of confidence that the surgery was going to solve my problem. I had been experiencing a loss of strength in my left arm for some time. Dr. Staub prescribed an MRI, CT scan, and additional nerve tests to confirm his diagnosis. I was immediately better following surgery. I began to regain function in my arm within hours. It has been one month now and I continue to feel better and you can barely see my scar. I would recommend Dr. Staub and Texas Back Institute to anyone experiencing spine problems.
