CARING, THOROUGH AND PRECISE
Dr. Elkins has been my ophthalmologist for a decade now. I put off cataract surgery for 2 years because of the pandemic, but I needn't have. Dr. Elkins, his surgical coordinator and staff wear masks, are vaccinated, and take every precaution against COVID. Recently, Dr. Elkins did cataract surgery (toric lenses) on both eyes. He and his technician painstakingly took precise measurements of the topography of each eye to determine the correct power, fit and position of each intra-ocular lens. Medicare doesn't cover toric IOLs, but I am so glad I paid for them--it was money well-spent. I have 20/20 vision now and only use glasses for reading--which is to be expected.

I had the worse experience with this DR is only out for one's money.I did not get a choice to have eye surgery that was affordable. It was $2100 and none of it was covered.I had a bad reaction to the eye drops he insisted I use for surgery prior.I let them know the problem and dr Elkins called me and thus another nightmare would begin. He let me know that he could refer me to an allergist and that would take time and the results would agree with him that I am not allergic and this would take so long I would be blind and that no other DR would do the surgery and told me to have a nice day.I felt violated. I was fortunate to find a wonderful caring Dr that I am having the same corrective implants and the only out of pocket was $55.00.

I can't find enough kind words to describe Dr. Elkins. He has been treating my family for over twenty some odd years. This has included routine visits to traumatic incidences. Dr. Elkins has provided many family members with cutting edge technologies to enhance our vision. He has always been available to help us. His caring and kindness goes a very long way accompanied by his state of the arts treatment and diagnosis.
