Dr. Bradford Murphy, DO

I'm a physician in Oakland county. Two Urologists here wanted to do repeat multiple biopsies. A close friend is the Urologist for a Los Angeles sports team. He cautioned me against the multiple biopsies due to the high risk of systemic infection and in some cases death. Dr. Murphy was not aware of this opinion but told me exactly the same thing. He gave me oral antibiotics and the issue was resolved.

After hearing from a cousin that a cystoscopy to look inside my bladder was only mildly uncomfortable, I agreed to let Dr. Bradford Murphy perform the procedure in his office. BIG MISTAKE! The pain was excruciating and resulted in a lot of bleeding, and the procedure had to be aborted because visibility was so poor through all the blood. Dr. Murphy seemed to be in a hurry, couldn't seem to get the cystoscope focused, but kept pushing it in any way. The result is what I described. Not once during the procedure did Dr. Murphy ever look at me or ask me how I was doing, and he was oblivious to the extreme pain he was causing me. On a follow-up visit, I told the receptionist I was firing Dr. Murphy and wanted a different urologist, but I was told I couldn't change doctors. Since when did we lose freedom of choice in this country? On the next attempt to make an appointment for a recurring UTI, the office wouldn't give me one. I had other bad experiences with Urological Services as well.

He wouldn’t see me because I lost my insurance but had the money to pay cash. When I run into him in the hospital and asked him why he just laughed. Wasn’t impressed with him.

He does not care about his patients and is rude.

He’s treated me for BPH the past 25 years. Great Doctor

You can forget any bad reviews you see here. Last week Dr. Murphy did an emergency surgery on me for a very serious life threatening condition and did a superb job. He has my highest recommendation. Four days after his surgery another superb plastic surgeon closed the wound which had to be left open for drainage. Dr Murphy checked in with me in ICU daily to check progress and make sure all was going well. HIghest recommendations.

I have yet to visit the doctor. I may never get there as I can’t get anyone in his office to call me back. Typical of all Genesys physicians. They may be good but their staff is not reliable. 27 hours and counting from first call to request an appointment.

I am very satisfied with Dr. Murphy. He was up to date on my case and reviewed my chart thoroughly before meeting with me. His bedside manner was very professional and his office staff is efficient. I highly recommend him.

He has no bedside manners and he doesn't make important follow up appointments to o any test or surgery or procedure that is performed on you. He doesn't answer many questions & keeps your information on a "his need to know" basis only! He'll ask what tests from the past were performed on you, but that's because he doesn't pay attention to your charts, or know you or your case. And when you ask about your health, he will let you that it pleases him that you're interested, but won't answer the Q
